We spent the last week of August at El Patio Motel- great time, very Key West and , importantly- affordable. Historic Key West walkable, of, if too hot, take a LYFT-also affordable. We highly recommend and hope to return next year.

This was my second time staying at this well managed and reasonably priced centrally located motel. My room was clean and spacious with a mini fridge, efficient air conditioning, wall mounted TV, walk in shower and with comfortable beds. There was plenty of storage space. The decor is somewhat dated but everything is very well maintained. The motel provided ample free parking spaces for guests. The pool area was well maintained. Motel staff including George at reception were all courteous and professional. The wifi reception was excellent. I’ve had very pleasant stays at this quiet, well located and budget friendly motel and would definitely stay here again when visiting Key West.

Stayed here with 2 of our teens in the 2-bedroom room. Good amount of space, a decent sized mini fridge with a freezer section. Rooms were basic and functional, a little dated, but comfortable. Only the back bedroom had a window AC unit, so it lacked some privacy as we had to keep the door between the bedrooms open. Only the front room had a TV (this didn't bother us, but may be an issue for others). The pool was great, hardly ever crowded, well maintained, goes up to 6ft deep with a nice sitting ledge along the entirety of the rim, they also had a bin with some balls and pool noodles. The property is well taken care of, clean with pretty landscaping. The rooftop area was a nice place to relax, you could see a decent portion of the sunset from up there. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Bike rentals right on site were convenient, we biked to most places on the island in less than 10 minutes. Key West is getting hit with a crazy amount of Sargassum, making the beaches unusable, but this motel was just far enough away to escape most of the smell. They would benefit from a couple trashcans in the common areas, however for me, the cons were far outweighed by the pros. I would stay here again.

Perfect for the value, room was cozy and cool even though the bathroom got a little muggy (it happens, it's Key West). There was a pool but we did not use it. The staff was so very helpful with check in and even sending something I had forgotten in the room. Location is a bit of a walk from our points of interest but they also had bikes for rent. Would stay again.

My family and friends have stayed at El Patio many times over the last few years and absolutely love the place. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the overall atmosphere is relaxing. Every stay has been a great experience, and we always look forward to coming back. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

My husband and I felt like we were transported to the 1950s. It was wonderful to get away from everything and go back. We parked our car and never used it again. Everything was within walking distance. In the room, we loved the floors, and the bed was exquisite. Our stay at the El patio was everything that we needed.

I'm rating this based on its star rating and what I already knew about the motel based on its listing so read it carefully, it would be unfair to mark this place down by comparing it to other places of higher rating. This place is a wonderful dive ? if you're looking for quiet, comfort and classic amenities then... keep looking! This is a place for excellent location, cheap and cheerful and "gets the job done" For UK based tourists - I'd liken it to glamping in one of those rounded huts, better than a tent but not quite a hotel standard. The staff are lovely, the clientele are roudy and the beds are hard - all in all. A good experience! I absolutely would not recommend for families unless you have a sense of humour ?

The El Patio Motel proved to be a comfortable, clean and well located place to stay while in Key West. While sitting on the rooftop deck you can see the hotels that cost more than twice as much 2 blocks away. In my opinion this is a classic beach motel but with beautifully landscaped grounds, a very clean pool (I'm pretty sure it's a saltwater pool too which they should mention on their hotel sight as many prefer them) a somewhat convenient location, and great housekeeping. Aside from the roosters (they're everywhere) it provided a quiet environment just a few blocks from the noise and action and was conveniently located to some of the beaches as well. The bike rental was a big plus as well, we were thankful to have those on site. In summary, while it does show it's age in places, it's a well kept, clean place to stay that provided a comfortable environment and comfortable beds (pillows were a little too big for us, but that's all part of traveling). We would stay here again. If you want to be in the heart of the action, it may not be the best option for you, but if you want a jumping point to go and explore it all, it's a great "home base" while in Key West.

This motel is an amazing value with time honered tradition of excellence. Very clean environment, top notch staff taking care of the property and excellent service in all aspects. The layout of the property allows for privacy and quiet evenings and in general it is a beautiful place on the islands. Do be sure to run up the stairs to the hotel top patio...it is truly incredible!

Great location. Easy walking distance to most attractions. Nice pool and areas to sit outside. Rooms are dated which is fine but the beds in our room were rock hard and did not allow for any decent sleep during our stay.
