Another unforgettable visit to Key West and another amazing stay at the Blue Marlin! This retro, remodeled motel provides a peaceful atmosphere, fun and attentive front desk staff, remodeled rooms with comfortable beds. Once again we requested the queen suite because we like the extra room and it did not disappoint! Located close to both the Southernmost point and Duval Street, you can park, unpack, and walk anywhere you desire to go. No need to fight traffic or pay for parking. If you don’t want to walk, Ubers were always waiting just off property. Now, add in the amazing food truck and large pool and you have the perfect recipe for a relaxing day before hitting Duval Street and Mallory Square. This is our second stay here and each time they treat us like family. As we live in Florida, we have visited Key West a few times before and will do so again. The Blue Marlin will be our first choice each time.

Room was very clean and looked recently updated. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The breakfast was basic. The only complaint I had was the pool deck. Who in the world decided on a dark pool deck in Florida was a good idea? Burn your feet hot. But it's not enough to make me not use Blue Marlin in the future.

Motel was SUPER CLEAN!!! breakfast was very simple (but included). Pool is clean, big and open until midnight (the pool towels were very thin though). Had a small fridge and microwave. They even provided a popcorn bag. Overall... happy we got this place and would definitely go back.

Great motel, reception staff are really welcoming, helpful, and really funny! A genuine pleasure to check in. Rooms are solid, A/C roars a bit. Pool area is nice to while away an hour or two with a book. Breakfast is a bit thin though, nothing fresh on offer, coffee ok. Location is excellent, just a short stroll to Duvall St and all its delights. Key West is a fine destination.

The Blue Marlin is a clean, safe, and comfortable motel on the quiet end of Simonton. The rates are very reasonable for Key West and the rooms are well-renovated and up to date.The front office staff is friendly and helpful. You might even get sung to! The property has an adorable "Old Florida" vibe that gives it a unique look. Walking distance to most Old Town attractions. We enjoyed our stay.

We stayed for two nights and couldn’t have been happier. It is on the quiet side of the island, but it was only a fifteen minute walk to the busier side, and the walk is pleasant with lots of historical markers on various buildings and nice shops and neighborhood bars. The attendants at the front desk were wonderful; one let us get our parking pass (we never used our car the entire time) early and the other (Nonnie) was very friendly. The room itself was huge with a seating area and two sinks. The beds were comfortable, especially the pillows. The pool was a fun place to relax with lots of seating. The breakfast was basic, but satisfactory (bagels, oatmeal, apples, yogurt, coffee, juice). We will definitely stay here on our next trip to Key West!

The Blue Marlin was in a decent location that was within walking distance of many things we wanted to see and do. The online images looked great and the price was on the more affordable side of the options list, so we gave it a shot. The front desk lady was phenomenal, had a great personality, was helpful and as accommodating as she could be. The laundry staff, unfortunately, not so much, but that could've been more due to the fact that English was not her first language. The cleanliness was absolutely subpar, but I didn't realize it until I'd taken a shower and went to put my socks on after walking from the bathroom and across the rug to the bed. My feet were literally black on the bottoms just from that rug!! It was absolutely disgusting. Everything else seemed clean except the rug, but knowing the rug was that filthy made me question everything else. My sis-in-law said there was a random napkin she found in her sheets. Unfortunately, we'd already booked and paid and there were no other options, so we made due. We threw towels down so we could walk on them instead of that nasty rug. I'd definitely suggest removing the rugs if they can't be cleaned on a regular basis. Other than that, the stay wasn't horrible. Sadly, I just can't bring myself to give more than three stars due to the obvious lack of cleanliness. Also, the continental breakfast was already over by 9:30 on a Saturday, which was disappointing.

We came to Key West to celebrate a milestone birthday! We chose Blue Marlin because of its amazing location to everything and we were right for the choice on that front. A few days prior to arrival I wanted to order some balloons and flowers to be placed in the birthday girls room prior to the check in day, and the woman answering the phone could not be bothered with any kind of request like this. She was short, and also lacked any hospitality or service skills. So that was a complete bummer for our surprise. However there is a theme of service I will talk more about out. All in all the surprise couldn’t be carried out it was not a big deal but it was a nothing thing if she only would listen to the request. When we finally arrived and checked in we were greeted by two individuals: Caludine and Stephan. Throughout our entire stay CLAUDINE was so hospitable and kind to us! She really went out of her way to make us feel welcome and kudos should be given to her and her professionalism. She is a service oriented staff member, others should emulate. Now on the other hand, Stephan - not kind at all. He’s very short and not friendly whatsoever. When we checked in we wanted to take advantage of our AARP discount as it stated this in the email we received from the Blur Marlin. He exclaimed codes like “rack” which we had no idea what he was talking about saying we booked the hotel with a third party and we could not apply any AARP discount. This was a total LIE. We booked both rooms through the Blue Marlin website on 8-6-2025 (see original email photos with All my information). So he was extremely rude and wrong. We let it go but all should know about this should you decide to do the same. While we were staying, the birthday girl found two palmetto bugs running around the floor in her room. Look, we’re in Florida and are Florida natives. We know these things are around. But she went to the front desk to ask for perhaps some extermination or something but was met with STEPHAN saying to her “Well why didn’t you kill them”. I mean this is a fine guy answer to a guy but not perhaps a lady and how hospitable is that answer?? We were helped after by CLAUDINE who seems to always save the day when it comes to service. Other things: we were impressed by the daily room service. It was nice to have it done everyday and to come back with a clean room. One thing to consider is they use massive amounts of bleach. The room was just loaded with it each day. So if you are sensitive this may be something to note. The rooms were very clean! It was great to have TWO sinks in the rooms! The AC was perfect. The continental breakfast was a nice touch for everyday and the pool is also very clean. All in all it was a good stay. Service can be questionable as it relates to dealing with STEPHAN and it seems he’s there a lot. It was a good value vs. other hotels in the area for a fairly good stay. The location, again, is amazing to everything.

We had a wonderful stay at the Blue Marlin Hotel in Key West. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, and the location was excellent—close to everything. We really enjoyed the nice pool and having breakfast on the patio. The facilities were clean and well maintained, which made our stay very comfortable. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.

A hidden gem. One of the best remodeling on a older hotel i have ever seen. Staff friendly. Parking spots a bit small for bigger suvs. But considering location and price...I would stay there again.
