The Hampton Inn Marathon is generally well-regarded for its friendly staff, clean rooms, and convenient location in the Florida Keys. Several reviewers highlight the helpfulness of staff members like Li and the quality of the breakfast. However, there are concerns regarding noise, cleanliness issues, and unexpected parking fees.
Day One & already 10/10!!! Li made something I thought was going to be a huge thing a simple switch. Staff is extremely friendly, room clean, in my opinion including a GOOD HOT breakfast is just the best. Very pleased!!!! Only “disappointment” is that you don’t really see the water like the photos make it seem because of the growth of the mangroves. But they do have a doc with chairs on it you can hang out at. Staff so kind
First and foremost is a HOMELESS WOMAN WAS ON SITE ALL DAY. She was in the pool area and gave me her sob story and then was hanging out at the desk area, vaping in a lounge area and in the front check in area "shopping". I talked to her because I was alone by the pool and she shared her story. Later on saw her and she was a bit off in the head and was rude to me. OKAY, so I'm not about to hurt any homeless person by forcing the issue to staff...but they CLEARLY knew she was there. I PAID TO BE AT A NICE HOTEL AND NOW I AM THE ONE WHO STARTS FEELING UNCOMFORTABLE. I had to avoid her and watch out for her. She seemed to be pan handling on the down low with other guests ALL Day. Unbelievable. Meanwhile in our room the air conditioner was soooo loud - on and off on and off all night. Terrible. Booked for 2 nights but the second day we were told we had to check out. Turns out they only booked 1 night so I had to go up to the front and rebook the 2nd night, which made us change rooms...which was fine since homeless lady knew where my room was plus better AC in this one. I am so disappointed that the homeless lady seemed more welcome then a paying guest. She said this hotel Let's them hang out here. Never again Hampton Hilton. Homeless in paradise- feel free to visit here, but paid vacationers not so welcome. Avoid this place.
We truly can’t say enough good things about our time here! Mr. Lee is an absolute star his helpfulness and genuine care consistently elevate our stay to the next level. A huge thank you to Ramone in the kitchen for being so attentive, and to Shelby, who was equally wonderful and accommodating. This team makes us feel so welcome, and we already can’t wait for our next visit!
Rip off no view,no beach, pool was freezing, smoking was difficult, bar was expensive, food was bar food and they charge 10$ a day to park. No refunds and we foolishly booked 2 weeks. Our room was semi clean headboard was ripped like someone had bashed a head in,housekeeping was only by request. Customer service was not helpful. It was a very expensive lesson.
I already miss this place. It is so peaceful. The man who runs this hotel is very nice and friendly. Everything from the pool, the rooms, the breakfast is very nice. I would definitely love to come back again.
The Hampton inn in Marathon had a few deficits. The handles on the cabinets in the kitchenette we're clear down at the floor rather than at the top of the cabinets! Our AC unit was incredibly loud and noisy and rattled even more when it kicked on. The hostess in the breakfast area was rude and/or non-existent. She kept hiding the spray for the waffle irons in the cabinet rather than leaving it out. She would hang out back in the kitchen on her phone rather than keeping the area clean and items filled. The first morning there I had to go to the kitchen and knock on the door five times to ask for items that had run out. I reported this to the front desk and on the third day we actually had a gentleman he was on the ball! On the listing when I booked this hotel it stated that there was self parking. Upon receiving the final bill we were charged $10 a night for parking and a three-dollar miscellaneous fee!?!? Not once upon check-in where we told there was going to be a nightly fee for parking. It's a good location on the outskirts of Marathon. Forcing in the keys the price was acceptable.
I'm a Hilton Diamond member. My grandmother passed away after the cancellation window had closed for my reservation. I had to cancel my entire Florida trip to go to her funeral in Tennessee instead. I called the hotel to notify them I would not be coming and asked if they could make an exception and provide me a refund. I offered to send them my grandmother's obituary as proof. Jill Campbell, the manager, cold-heartedly said no. Don't stay at this hotel. Go stay at other properties in the area who won't take your money in the midst of a family emergency. I hope you read this, Jill. You're a horrible person. *edit* I love how they replied and acted like they were looking into this. I have already contacted that number twice and the Hilton Honors Diamond line. All three times, the representatives said the decision was up to the general manager Jill, and all three times, Jill said no. They know I've done this and they're trying to publicly act like they care, when they don't. No, Hampton Inn. You will never have the opportunity to serve me or my family again. You guys are a bunch of vultures.
We had an absolutely perfect stay here on Christmas Day! We were able to check in a little early which was perfect since we had dinner reservations nearby that we had to get ready for. From check-in to check-out, the staff was friendly, courteous, and helpful. The room was absolutely perfect. Spacious, quiet, and easy for us to use while having our dog with us. Breakfast was good. We wish we could have used the pool and tiki bar (not enough time during this stay). This is the first Hilton property we have stayed at in the past two weeks that offered my Gold benefits (snacks/waters at check-in). It’s a great spot a bit more than halfway to Key West and we liked the quieter/calmer feel of this area. The dock behind the hotel with the Adirondack chairs was a lovely touch as well. W me would definitely stay here again. This hotel exemplifies why I continue to be loyal to Hilton properties! Thank you for a lovely, albeit short, stay!
We spent a weekend at the Hampton inn in Marathon Florida. located in the middle of the Florida keys, this hotel is in a perfect location for exploring the keys. Check in was very smooth and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. We loved how clean and well decorated the lobby and breakfast area was. You can Tell the owner of this property really cares about it and wanted to add their personal touch. The grounds of the hotel were immaculately maintained. the pool was a very nice inviting area and we loved that it had a little dock to view the water. Our room was a good size and very comfortable. The cleaning staff did an outstanding job with keeping this room looking clean and smelling clean. Pets are welcome and there is ample space outside for us to take our dog for a walk. We really did love the convenient location of this hotel. Plenty of shopping and restaurants just a short drive away and even a fantastic restaurant across the street with great sunset views. I highly recommend this Hampton inn and look forward to visiting again!
Our stay at the Hampton Inn Marathon – Florida Keys was very comfortable. The room felt premium, especially with the balcony overlooking the pool, and the free breakfast was a nice bonus. The location is excellent, with grocery stores and fast-food options nearby. The only downside was a noticeable smell near the elevator, but overall the hotel is a solid and recommendable choice in Marathon.
