The Truman Hotel is a stylish, centrally located Key West property featuring a quiet atmosphere and exceptionally accommodating staff, as evidenced by dedicated hosts like Beka and Darian. While many guests rave about the spacious, clean rooms and the relaxing saltwater pool, mixed reports on breakfast quality and occasional structural noise suggest a mixed experience depending on room selection.
Great location in Key West with a parking lot. Big and quite rooms. Unfortunately, I was disappointed by the poor breakfast. I think a hotel like this needs a better breakfast buffet.
This is a spectacular property that is 2 minutes from Duvall street and easily walkable to the marina for any of the excursions. The rooms are spacious and well maintained. The staff are very gracious and accommodating. The salt water pool is great bonus. Must consider hotel in the Key West area
We stayed here for the 1st time over Xmas and it was a great experience. Staff was friendly, rooms were clean and the over all property was wonderful. They left little treats and water in our room and the complimentary breakfast was nice
We spent 3 nights at the hotel in November. The location was nice- about a block from Duval Street- and very quiet. Rooms were pretty nice, but I don't feel like the beds or pillows were very comfortable. Breakfast was a very simple selection you'd expect to see at a Residence Inn or similar hotel chain, and they ran out of hot croissants with an hour left (out of 2...) Noise was a bit of a downside- walls were thin, so we could hear muffled voices pretty easily in the rooms next door, as well as those having breakfast outside of our room/near the pool in the mornings. It wasn't terrible, but definitely noticeable if you're sensitive to that. We enjoyed the complimentary treats provided by the cleaners every day, and having 24/7 access to the front desk if we needed it. Pretty pricey for some of these details and being off-season, but it wasn't a terrible experience either.
This was a birthday weekend for my wife. Darian at the front desk made it a very special birthday for her. He upgraded our room and made sure we had everything we wanted. The sweet lady at the breakfast bar was very kind and very helpful.
Pleasant surprise! I had not stayed here before so I did not know what to expect. It’s a great hotel. Our sweet room was large and spacious and overlooked the pool. It was clearly new/updated. Shout out to the breakfast woman who was a pleasure to see every morning when you wake up.Location is closer to the southern part of the island. I prefer the other end but that’s a personal thing I would definitely stay there again.
I arrived to check in at 2:45. Check in is at 3 pm. After waiting a few minutes I was told the room wasn't ready yet but would be ready by 3 (it's 2:47). After going back at 3 and waiting another 30 minutes to check in as there's only 1 person checking people in and now everyone who has had to wait til 3 is in line. 30 minutes later I get checked in and my parking pass for my space that we paid for. We leave to go to the store and when we get back there's someone parked in our space. After explaining this is out assigned spot, we go around the building to park and there is already another car in my spot who refuses to move. My husband has to go inside to get another parking spot. This is another 45 minute ordeal so now ive spent an hour and a half of my vacation waiting around. When we finally leave to get dinner and come back to the room about 9:30 pm, we noticed that the cleaning people have already been back in the room. (We checked in 6 hours earlier). They took some trash but didn't change towels or anything else which makes.me.wonder why they were even there. The room itself was decent. There was some balck mold in the shower. Overall I would not stsy here again.
This property is nicely maintainedl! Staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was nice and clean and it had a really nice shower. We stayed in a room with two queen beds that over looked the pool. The pool looked refreshing, but we didn't use. It closes at dusk. It would have been nice to use in the evening after coming back from being out all day. However, I do understand that since it's in the center there may be some people that may not be considerate and keep the noise level down. The other thing is that the morning breakfast was way too early for our party being 7-9 am. We have been to other places that carry it out until 10 am. So, we didn't get to have anything except for coffee ?. One thing we thought was sorta strange is that our room had the coffee maker and mini refrigerator located in the bathroom. It's an odd place to put them. Also, it did not have a microwave. The location was perfect as it's just a block or two away from many restaurants. The Light House and The Hemingway House was also just a few blocks away. CVS is also right across the street. It's a great location!
?????????? Incredible Stay The Truman Hotel is a hidden gem in Key West, but what really made our experience unforgettable was Beka, the host. From the moment we arrived, he went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Friendly, professional, and full of great local tips — Beka is truly the heart of this place. The hotel itself is gorgeous: clean, modern rooms, a relaxing pool area with a tropical vibe, and a great location just a few minutes’ walk from Duval Street. It’s the perfect mix of peaceful and central. If you’re lucky enough to be helped by Beka, you’re in the best hands. He’s the kind of host who makes you want to come back — and we definitely will!
A Safe Haven with Minor Comfort-Spells Missing Conclusion first: The Truman Hotel is like a well-guarded rest point on a long journey – perfect for recovering, with a few missing comfort spells. The pool? Absolutely fantastic – crystal clear, perfectly tempered, and a true blessing after an epic day of exploring Key West. Breakfast? More like rations from a travel pack – minimal, but enough to get you going. Room service? None. If you want to feast in your room, you’ll have to embark on your own food quest. What makes up for it? The staff. Kind, helpful, and never pushy – like great NPCs that are always ready to help without offering a fetch quest. All in all: stylish, relaxing, and in a top-notch location. Some comforts might be missing, but it still earns a well-deserved.
