Amoray Dive Resort consistently receives rave reviews for its exceptional diving experiences and welcoming atmosphere. Guests praise the knowledgeable and patient guides, abundant marine life, and convenient location for exploring Key Largo. While some rooms have minor maintenance needs, the overall experience is considered outstanding, particularly for those seeking a dive-focused vacation.
Completed a dive at Molasses Reef with Amoray Dive Resort on June 6 - this was only my 3rd dive since being open water certified. Christina was my guide and she was fantastic. Very patient, helpful and knowledgeable. I was confident and felt safe throughout both dives. Molasses reef was incredible with plenty of fish and sea life, including tarpon, sharks, sea turtles and lots of other fish species. Highly recommended this resort and will be booking with them again on my next trip down to Key Largo.
Our stay at Amory Dive Resort was absolutely incredible from start to finish. The staff was warm, welcoming, and went above and beyond to make sure every detail was taken care of. The property itself is beautiful, peaceful, and perfectly maintained, creating the ideal atmosphere to relax and unwind. The diving experience was exceptional — professional, organized, and unforgettable. The team made us feel safe and comfortable while still creating an exciting and adventurous experience. The water, reefs, and overall marine life were breathtaking. What truly stood out was the level of hospitality and attention to detail throughout the entire stay. You can tell the people here genuinely care about their guests and take pride in creating an amazing experience. If you’re looking for a beautiful dive resort with outstanding service, amazing diving, and a relaxing atmosphere, I highly recommend Amoray Dive Resort. We can’t wait to come back!
My husband and I booked a room for a long weekend during Easter. The staff were so friendly and made us feel so welcome. They were knowledgeable and even though some of our plans had to be rearranged due to weather they still made the most out of our snorkel and sunset trips. Captain Kevin and First Mate January did a great job guiding both tours. The room was spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed hanging out by the bay in the evenings. This resort was very calm and relaxing. Definitely will stay again!
I had 3 days of diving with these folks and I have nothing but praise for them. I was diving on my own and so hired a guide. My guides were Brie and Christina who were both excellent. I learned a lot from them both and they both did a great job pointing out sea life and helping me with any issues I had as a relatively new diver. The captain, Aaron and first mates were also knowledgeable, friendly, and were very good communicators, covering all the safety and amenities of the boat professionally and with humor. I highly recommend this dive center. I also really appreciated the fact that they are an ECO PADI center and clearly value the environment they are diving in. In terms of the resort, it’s fine, but there were some maintenance and sound proofing issues with my room. Nothing major and I didn’t complain, but the shelving in the bathroom was missing, the remotes were sticky and gross, and the hall closet shelving was grungy. The bed was comfy and clean and the room overall including the kitchen were also nice and clean and I enjoyed my stay. There is not a ton of soundproofing which was not an issue as everyone was pretty low key, but just something to be aware of. The quality of the dive outfit was my priority and in that, Amoray could truly not have done any better! I loved looking around the boat today and seeing each guide talking with their guests, interacting, explaining, asking and answering questions. These guys take the divers experience seriously and I would highly recommend them when diving in Key Largo
Only here for two days but thought the location and rooms were great. Also can’t beat having the boat right there. Super nice people all the way around. Day 1 dives were cancelled due to extreme wind and the communication was great. Day two was windy and cold as well but they still took us out and we had a great two dives on molasses reef. Great captain and great guide. Will be coming back mid summer to try and catch better weather.
We had such an amazing time at Amoray! This was our first stay at a dive resort and we absolutely loved it! We stayed for a week (Dive & Stay) getting our OW Referral and everthing was GREAT!! Our instructor, January, was fantastic...patient, encouraging, passionate and made our "classes" so much fun. We always felt safe with her and loved that she made sure we understood the "why" behind each skill sticking closely by us until we nailed every one of them. She has a very calming presence in the water which helped us feel so much more comfortable (as we were a bit nervous). We were there during a cold snap so the water was chillers and January always made sure we were comfortable even letting me borrow her scuba vest so I'd stay warm AND even let me use her mask for a couple of dives when she quickly figured out mine was too big. The captains and crew were awesome. Our guides Nick and Bre were SO good. They kept a constant watch on everyone and made us feel so safe and confident (we did quite a few dives with them after completing our certification). The convenience of walking out of our room and right onto the boat was the absolute best. Captains Kevin, G and Travis were so much fun and very very good at making sure everyone on the boat was taken care of. We especially loved feeling that safety was the crew's number one priority followed closely by their love of the ocean and their commitment to protecting it and all of it's creatures. The cleaning staff was fantastic. We loved using the bins for towel exchange...super easy! Grounds were immaculate. We are already planning another trip to complete our AW certification with them next year! Thank you so much to everyone at Amoray for taking such good care of us. We truly felt like family!!
What an amazing experience with the Crew of Gabriel, Nick, Kent, Travis. We had the best of times snorkeling. The crew was humorous, attentive, safety conscious, and detailed. I can’t say enough. My wife and I enjoyed it immensely. TYVM. We didn’t stay at the resort, but plan to in the future. We had a wonderful snorkeling experience. Thanks again Team Amoray !
We booked here for a one night stay. There’s a lot to do in the area. John Pennecamp park, the Conch House, a bird sanctuary, they have diving boats that you can take out, as well as jet skis for rent, and kayaks, stand up paddle boards, etc. The rooms were very clean and updated. The buildings are very cute. Kind of an old school Keys feel. Our room had a view of the bay with a few trees blocking the horizon. (See pictures) The bed was very comfortable. It was very cold on the weekend that we were there, so we used the extra blanket in the closet. There’s a dock to hangout on but it was too windy and cold to hangout for too long. There’s a tiny “beach” (see picture). There are a lot of nice places to relax outside. There was parking directly in front of our room. The prices were reasonable. I would return again and stay longer.
This review focuses on the scuba diving service. I rented my equipment and it was good quality , well maintained and clean. The fins were the only low quality item. BCD had integrated weight pockets , very nice. Here is where they rip you off, usually there is a dive master that guides the open water divers through the dive. Not here. You have to separately hire a “guide” , and if you don’t it’s ok but you are on your own. So tack on an extra$80 every guide you hire. Tom was wonderful; so was January; I strongly advise not asking for Gabe.
Excellent experience all around. Room was clean, service was prompt. Dive staff were professional and friendly, especially January, Kevin, Travis, Gabe, and Aaron. Dives were fun thanks to the knowledgeable staff. Unfortunately the water pressure in our shower was weak, which was annoying after long days of diving. The TV was also almost unusable due to a poor wifi connection. We had a wonderful time and will definitely be back.
