Rainbow Bend Resort offers a relaxed, hideaway experience in the Keys, featuring ocean views, a pool, and kitchenettes. While praised for its friendly staff and charming atmosphere, reviews highlight inconsistencies in room quality and a less-than-stellar beach experience, alongside service issues and some maintenance needs. Overall guest satisfaction is mixed but with a strong leaning towards positive experiences for those seeking a quiet getaway.
Perfect retreat. This resort is not high maintenance bougie but prefect for adults to get away and relax. There’s a pool and hot tub facing the blue ocean, kitchenettes, a grill and a lot more to enjoy. This is a hideaway delight in the keys
This place is great! From Julissa, to Summer, to Heaven, they are awesome and so welcoming. I also want to mention the housekeeping staff is ready to assist with whatever you need. Breakfast in the Hideaway Cafe is excellent! Frieda is gracious. The french toast and blueberry pancakes are delicious! My husband and I are looking forward to next year's stay!!
Beautiful resort, looked like the two rooms we stayed in were recently updated. Our ocean side room was beautiful, the other room near the highway needed a few additions. Would definitely stay again. Staff was great as was breakfast!
We stayed a week and it was a good enough place to sleep for probably a cheaper price then all the other hotels. If they maintained it well... they could increase their prices. Staff is very kind but over worked. This is clearly an owner issues. If you are looking for a soft sand beach for your kids to run around, this is not it. It's got a sandbar you can fully see as the tide retracted. It was about 4 feet deep a mile out during the day.
Booked through Expedia and the listing was misleading. I was told the room would have a queen-size bed, but it was actually a full. There was also a dead cockroach in the room, which was very disappointing. On top of that, there was a hidden $45 resort fee that was never disclosed in the listing or during booking. The only positives were the outdoor breakfast seating and the beach access. Overall, not worth the price given the issues.
2nd time we decided to stay here, the first being about 3 years ago. Came for 2 days for Thanksgiving with the wife and son, and was very disappointed. Got a black Friday deal on Expedia and purchased the slightly more expensive room option to enhance the chances of a better view. We got placed all the way on the other side of the resort where nobody was at near the dumpster. Again, black Friday deal, we were just happy to get a room. Problems with both of our AC’s. Free Breakfast was cancelled both days of stay. The first day they did have a few pastries and bacon, but they were trying to prepare Thanksgiving meals for the afternoon, which you could purchase for $160 per couple. 2nd day, nobody showed up to serve anything. Other than AC issues, room was very pleasant, and beds were comfy. Upon checkout, when turning in the key, staff up front seemed irritable, and disinterested in having any conversation or to exchange greetings. Could have been a lot worse I suppose, but having been there before, and remembering nothing but excellent service and accommodations, this was a real letdown in terms of what it costs to stay there, plus the lack of advertised amenities. Maybe it was because of the Holiday, or maybe it’s new management, but this trip did not seem in line with what we experienced when we came here before.
Lovely room, more like a cottage with a living area and kitchen, cool little beach, dog friendly. And the welcoming spirit and delicious "expertly prepared " meals that come from Freda and Johnny' kitchen at the wonderful Hideaway Cafe on the property made our stay a perfect one! We will be back!
I mean not terrible, but we definitely overpaid and wish we didn't stay here. Nothing extraordinary and extremely basic. Beautiful ocean view, but the rooms and property are nothing to write home about. I wouldn't recommend staying here. There is absolutely no lighting on the beach at night and minimal lights throughout the rest of the property- I keep wanting to type resort but this just isn't a resort- more like a bungalow. I'm so annoyed that this is where we ended up staying...not the end of the world but blah, its all sand and rocks. Literally rooms, sand, a few beach chairs, and glad there were hermit crabs because my kids were entertained for an hour before we went to dinner.
We arrived at 7:56 pm, said they close at 8:00. Door locked and our key and instructions were in a box by the door. Our room number 20 was around the back. It was pitch dark and my husband fell. Took a long time to get in the room because the lock on the rickety door was messed up. Television remotes did not work. Next morning to breakfast at 8:00, the cook wasn’t there yet! We waited and was informed there was an up charge for orange juice among other items.BTW, all microwaved food. It would have been fine if we were informed ! Beachfront was just OK, dock missing and you wouldn’t want to get in the water there. During the stay, the half-ass installed barn door fell off the top rail and had no bottom track ! Dangerous !!! The office is a disaster area and staff is smoking inside ! Very rude staff. Across from us was a gentleman with a dog, we think he lives here, anyway just saw him take dog out, dog pooped in walkway, did not pick up. So, don’t believe the pics on website or if you call, don’t believe them when they say it’s nice. I would recommend staying somewhere else.
Well the room was ok there is no beach here. And at night the pool turned into a party place. The really good thing about this place was the breakfast the blueberry pancakes were great and bacon. All I really say is you get what you pay for here.
