Fitch Lodge offers a charming and convenient base for exploring Key West, praised for its friendly staff, comfortable rooms, and walkable location. While some units exhibit older building characteristics, the property consistently receives positive feedback for its hospitality and added amenities like complimentary breakfast and happy hour.
I recently stayed at Fitch Lodge and had a wonderful experience. One of the highlights of my stay was the exceptional customer service provided by Lenny and Lee. They were both extremely informative, attentive, and genuinely committed to ensuring that we had a pleasant experience. The property is perfect for anyone who enjoys a more suburban atmosphere. It is close enough to restaurants, attractions, and shopping, yet far enough away from the heavy traffic, crowds, and everyday annoyances. The location offered a peaceful and relaxing environment while still being convenient. I also loved that guests can enjoy breakfast and other amenities at the related properties simply by presenting their guest key from their reserved accommodation. This added flexibility and value to the stay. The room itself was beautiful and thoughtfully designed. It worked especially well for two friends traveling together who wanted to share accommodations while still having their own separate space and privacy. My only criticism would be the condition of some of the flooring. There were a few divots and loose floorboards that could use attention. Other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed the property and would gladly stay there again. Thank you, Lenny and Lee,
Location is great. Rooms are clean. Little noisy if across the street due to traffic. Coffee in Lobby is better than the room pour over coffee bags. Toilet did stopped up on us 2x. But they were very attentive to fix it. Only recommendation is that end tables are so small. Hard for medical devices and charging devices.
We had a pretty good stay here overall. The biggest negative was that there was a large blood stain on the bathroom sink when we got there, honestly I don’t know how the housekeeping missed it because it was super obvious. I asked to get some Lysol wipes and gloves to clean it and the front desk person seemed genuinely shocked and apologized, and right away had someone come to bleach the bathroom down. The rest of the room seemed very clean and well kept. Honestly other than that, we had a great stay. We had a baby with us and they helped us by moving us to the first floor instead of our original room on the second floor because we had so much baby supplies with us. Check in was smooth and the people working in the lobby are friendly. It’s nice they do the cocktails for happy hour. The pool area was cute but the pool could use a little more skimming more frequently.. it’s right under some trees so I think the leaves just fall a lot. We didn’t swim because it had a good amount of stuff like leaves and a few bugs in the water. We appreciated the water bottle station. The overall vibe of the hotel is really cute and boutique feeling. I liked the decor of the room. Our room setup was cool with a queen bed in 1 area then in a separate room there was another queen - great for 2 sets of people sharing the space as you get some privacy unlike most other hotel rooms with 2 beds in it (we were in room number 1). It’s an old old place like many others in Key West, so it had little quirks like hearing other rooms flush their toilet sometimes. The floor in our room also had a section (for hotel staff - the area connecting the front room and back room sections right near the closet) that seemed like it needs replacing and was squishy to walk on and we avoided walking over it as we were nervous it’d cave in. The air conditioning was good and worked quickly. You can hear a lot on the street like cars and the roosters in the morning (there are roosters all over Key West) but we were really glad we were far enough off of Duval Street as that’s probably way more noisy nearby. The walk is very doable to Duval Street and all other locations in Key West. It felt very safe here even though the room doors open right to the street. We had a great parking experience and found a free street spot right in front of the hotel, maybe we just got lucky since I hear parking in Key West can be tricky. Late checkout is an additional cost. I think I this hotel is good for the cost compared to others in Key West which were more expensive. We would probably recommend this hotel to others.
My boyfriend and I came down to KW for a long weekend and stayed here. The location is a little bit further from Duval than I like but it's is still walkable. Upon arrival Leigh (not sure if I am spelling her name right) was very welcoming. We arrived early and were able to get into the room early. Leigh was so helpful and courteous the whole time we were there. The room was nice and clean and the pool area was enjoyable. I would recommend this place and will probably stay here again.
Nice quiet rooms, in an area you can walk everywhere. Pool is small but adequate. Appreciated the morning hot drink service. And afternoon cocktail. Unfortunately my booking information said breakfast included, which when looking at cost, it factors in....but they do not offer breakfast. Just a 10 pct discount at a nearby bakery. Even just fresh fruit would have been nice.
I loved our room. It was large enough with lots of natural light from 3 windows, well appointed with a nice mix of modern and antique furniture, the bedding was very comfortable. A large closet, a little bar and refrigerator was a plus. We used our covered porch with cozy chairs a lot. The pool area is a nice retreat in the hot afternoons. The staff is very friendly and ready to help. I loved the free coffee selection in the morning, all types of teas, the ice water throughout the day, and a place to refill your water bottles. In the afternoon we were treated to free cocktails. The daily cleaning service was very nice and the bathroom was appointed with high-end european Argan Oil cream, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and hand soap. It was a joy to be in such a well renovated and updated historic lodge which is such a different experience from the usual business hotel. The walk to the nearby bakery for breakfast, historic down town, and the historic port area was very enjoyable and healthy for us. We will be back.
They have cold water in the lobby for the hot humid days, good housing and bedding. Some of the rooms across the street that they own could use some improvements but other than that, a great place to stay and rest away from the humid heat. In a perfect spot too, you can take a nice walk to the downtown area in less than 5 minutes and it's next to the ferry for those visiting through the ferry.
Highly recommend Fitch Lodge! From the moment we arrived, Lee at the front desk made us feel right at home with her sweet demeanor and helpful tips. The room was spotless and the location can't be beat. A huge thank you to Sky and the management for being so accommodating when the weather forced us to change our travel plans. Their kindness made a stressful situation much easier. We can’t wait to stay here again.
From the moment I arrived, this hotel exceeded every expectation and turned a simple stay into a genuinely memorable experience. The property itself is beautiful, and effortlessly comfortable — Every detail, from the atmosphere to the service, reflects care, intention, and pride. What truly elevated the stay, though, was the exceptional hospitality from Skye. She was nothing short of incredible. Warm, attentive, and genuinely kind, Skye’s communication was outstanding from start to finish. When confirming our stay, I mentioned that we would be arriving well before check-in and if we could store our bags. Without hesitation, she asked if we’d prefer an earlier room and what time we’d arrive. As this communication was a day before, she said that a room was already being held for when we got to the property. The room that she saved was far better than what I had expected and would specifically ask for it again. My opinion of not just Fitch Lodge, but of the whole hotel group is made by my experience with Skye. It’s rare to encounter someone who blends professionalism with such authentic friendliness, and she absolutely set the tone for the entire stay in Key West. The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed, offering a perfect retreat after the day. This is the kind of hotel that stays with you long after you check out—because of the people, and the feeling that you were genuinely taken care of. Thanks in large part to Skye, this stay was exceptional, and I wouldn’t hesitate for a second to return or recommend it to anyone looking for a truly top-tier hotel.
By far the best bang for your buck in Key West. The downtown location is perfect—right next to Downtown Bakery and Eaton Street Seafood Market, and an easy walk to Pepe’s, Half Shell Raw Bar, and Schooner Wharf. The front desk staff is pleasant, extremely nice, and genuinely helpful with anything you need. The complimentary happy hour and breakfast are a great bonus and really set this place apart. Comfortable, convenient, and welcoming—highly recommend staying here when you’re in Key West.
