Looe Key Reef Resort offers a rustic Keys experience with a focus on snorkeling and diving trips through its affiliated dive shop. Recent reviews highlight a friendly atmosphere and convenient location, though some guests have expressed concerns about room cleanliness and noise levels due to the nearby tiki bar.
Nice rustic Florida keys place to stay. It is not a Hilton so if that is your hope, this is not the place to go.. If you want the "island vibe" place to stay then it most certainly is! Dive shop with snorkel trips daily, decent size pool, and some of the friendliest people you will meet. The rooms could use a little updating but overall we enjoyed it. Convenience store/gas station on the other side of the property for drinks and such for your room. The location is perfect for exploring the keys and only about 45 minutes from Key West if that is where you want to spend some time. Totally different it and will most likely be back.
This is the ultimate dog friendly hotel. Dogs roam around. Is very clean..meaning all owners pick up after their dogs. The place is rustic not a fancy hotel. My dogs really enjoyed the stay. I gave 3 starts in the room because the sink and shower did not drain. Friday night there was a band playing very good music and everyone in the bar had a dog.
It’s a two star lodging facility with five star service. Tabatha who checked us in gave us great recommendations. We went on the four hour snorkel trip which was amazing. Captain James and crew did a great job. After we enjoyed Taco Tuesday at the tiki Bar with live entertainment by Pierce August followed by trivia night, we had such a good time.
Just spent a week with my daughter and had a great visit! Location is great, close to lots of great beaches, restaurants, and just far enough away from Key West to be close to the action for a day without being surrounded by tourists. The room was really cute and clean. The bar had entertainment and lots of locals (always a good sign). It was too windy while we were there so we didn’t get to go out to the reef to snorkel though. Overall, a great place if you just want to chill and relax without breaking the bank!
We really enjoyed our stay at Looe Key Reef Resort. Management were very friendly and accommodating, and check?in was easy. Our room was spotlessly clean, and the handicapped-accessible layout made it very comfortable and practical, with plenty of space to move around. This is not a modern or high?end luxury hotel, so if you’re expecting brand?new finishes, this isn’t that, but it is an honest, older Keys-style property that’s extremely clean and well kept. We also loved having the Looe Key Tiki Bar and restaurant right next door for food and drinks, and Boondocks just a short walk down the road was excellent for a night out as well. Having a 24?hour Shell station close by was surprisingly handy for late?night snacks and drinks. Overall, a very clean, convenient and welcoming place to stay in the Lower Keys, and we’d happily come back.
My wife snorkeled and I dove off the Looe Key boat captained by Captain Jack. My dive master/leader was Rob and he was excellent to dive with! I felt safe, and he showed us some interesting water life! My wife had a great time, as usual, on the boat and snorkeling in the water. We always look to Looe Key Resort Dive boat, when we want to get out to the reef! We've done this many times and always have had a most pleasant experience!
This was our first time staying at Looe Key Reef Resort and we really enjoyed it. Everyone we spoke to was genuinely friendly, the place was clean, and the whole property had a super relaxed vibe. After a long day of traveling, it was exactly what we needed to unwind. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in the Keys.
Great spot in a laid back environment. Staff is friendly and the Tiki Bar is a very cool local hangout with great drinks and food. The dive boat operation is awesome with the best Captains and guides to take you on an enjoyable trip to the reef for snorkeling or diving!
This place is scammy to say the least! I made a reservation for my trip 3 weeks in advance on Wednesday Feb 21st. My reservation was confirmed. I was charged for my stay. 5 days later I received an email saying the hotel cancelled my stay. Reason: overbooking. 5 days later they realized they overbooked?! I do not recommend this resort to anyone!
We have stayed in the past the rooms are clean a little out dated but clean. Staff is nice. Our only complaint which would of givin a 5 star. Was we were missing our favorite bartender Keith. He was actually the reason we wanted to stay there. He is a great bartender and makes the looe key resort complete . We hope next time we come back Keith will also be back
