We had the most excellent time here. Even on a late booking not knowing what to expect. Cheeca lodge surpassed our expectations and we can’t wait to come back before the year ends. Our host at the front desk was so hospitable and accommodating we will never forget our weekend here. Thank you Ayesha and to Cheeca Lodge and spa for experiencing Islamorada the right way. It’s a great chilled island setting. The only off putting thing for us was the suragasum seaweed which prevented us from swimming in the sea and smelled badly. But it’s not in hotels control we understood. Amenities are great, we used tennis courts every day and you have the rackets on site. There are many water sports you can rent which are included. There is a small play room for kids which was handy for our son as he enjoyed meeting other kids there. Pools are nice and plenty. Food was okay but there are plenty of places to go on the island for fresh mahi mahi fish. Lodges like ours had inbuilt kitchen and we did cook too. It’s got great vibes, parking is free and on site.

?????????? We had an absolutely incredible experience at Cheeca Lodge & Spa in Islamorada. From the moment we arrived, the service, property, and overall atmosphere exceeded our expectations. The grounds are absolutely stunning—beautifully maintained, tropical, peaceful, and exactly what you hope for when visiting the Florida Keys. Our room was amazing as well: spacious, comfortable, beautifully appointed, and a perfect place to relax after enjoying everything the resort has to offer. What really made our stay exceptional, though, were the people. Edgar, the Front Desk Manager, went above and beyond for our family and made us feel genuinely welcomed and taken care of. His professionalism, kindness, and willingness to make our stay special did not go unnoticed. We also want to recognize Jeffrey from the valet team, who was outstanding throughout our stay. He was incredibly friendly, attentive, and helpful every single time we saw him. Employees like Edgar and Jeffrey are what turn a beautiful resort into a truly memorable experience. Cheeca Lodge is a special place, and we can’t say enough good things about our stay. Amazing room, incredible grounds, fantastic service, and wonderful people. We will absolutely be back and would recommend Cheeca without hesitation to anyone visiting Islamorada. Five stars all the way!

Cheeca is nice, rooms were fine, views are great, everything was about as I expected. I would like to compliment the chef and servers for friday night dinner. You can order your own catch, which about half our table did. When it came out the lobster and mahi were not only delicious, but the presentation was fantastic - touches like that make places special.

Good rooms and activities, but know what you’re getting A few things worth knowing before booking. The rooms are a strong point: big, well air-conditioned, and some have baths on the balcony, which is a nice touch. The included activities are also good, especially for kids. There’s a pitch and putt golf course (small, and they only provide pitching wedge style clubs) and you can fish with shrimp off the pier for free. The food was decent, and the bartenders and service staff were warm and helpful throughout. The main things to be aware of: there was a sargassum smell across the resort during our stay. There’s also no real sand beach. It’s fine crushed rock made to look like sand, and swimming from it isn’t practical due to a small rock wall and the seaweed. The pools were so warm in July they were barely refreshing, and over the holiday weekend the crowds made it hard to get a lounge chair. Outside of the rooms, there aren’t many air-conditioned common areas, so it can get hot. At $500+/night, whether it’s worth it depends on what you’re looking for. If a swimmable beach matters to you, this isn’t the spot.

We had a great stay at Cheeca! A big part of that was Jessica Wood who made certain everything easy, handled the details, and cared (personally) that we had a great trip. What I love about Islamorada is that no matter how fast you're moving when you arrive, or how wound up you are from work, within a few hours you're operating at the speed of Islamorada. It’s a great thing. It’s hard to explain, but it’s not that far from the mainland geographically, but it feels a world away. The pace, the water, the people, the fishing—it creates separation from everyday life. Cheeca captures it perfectly. Beautiful property, great staff, excellent food and drinks, and an ideal base for exploring the Keys. Thanks again to Jessica and the entire team for a memorable stay. We'll be back.

This was the first time we stayed at this resort. We very much enjoyed our time here. Staff and service were great. The room was clean and well taken care of as was the rest of the property. The property itself is rather expansive, so be prepared for a bit of a walk if your room is near the resort entrance. There are a few restaurants on property, but we only ate lunch from the poolside menu. As for activities, you can relax on or fish off the dock, book an excursion (highly recommend Angelfish Boat Tours!), hang out at one of the pools, golf, bike around, or rent kayaks or paddleboards (not sure if they're included with the resort fee). There's also a free shuttle that will take you anywhere within a 2 mile radius, so get out there and explore the area. The beach, as is the case with most Keys beaches, is not great and will likely be full of seaweed. This is not the resorts fault, that's just how it is down there an d there's simply no controlling it. Since the beach is essentially out of the question, pool chairs at the main pool fill up fast, so you'll be waiting around if you don't claim one early. The adult's only pool looked pretty empty and much quieter, but I don't know if there's food and drink service out there. One thing to consider is that kids activities outside of Camp Cheeca are very limited, so keep this in mind if you have little ones. That being said, we will definitely return at some point!

3 Stars – Beautiful Resort, Wonderful Staff, But the Spa Day Pass Was Disappointing Cheeca Lodge & Spa is truly a beautiful property. The grounds are stunning, the resort itself feels very upscale, and the rooms are extremely nice and comfortable. The staff throughout the property were also incredibly friendly, welcoming, and accommodating, which made for a wonderful overall experience. That said, I had to give three stars specifically because of the spa experience. I purchased a day pass to use the spa and fitness facilities, and unfortunately, it was not worth the cost. The fitness center is decent, but fairly small with only a standard amount of equipment. My biggest disappointment was the men’s locker room steam room, which unfortunately does not work properly. Staff acknowledged they are aware of the issue and explained that it frequently shuts on and off and has to be reset regularly. During my visit, it would work for only about 9 minutes before shutting off completely for an hour or more. On top of that, the seal on the steam room door does not work properly, so steam leaks out regardless. Additionally, while the locker room facilities are clean and functional, they do feel somewhat dated inside. It would be a nice improvement to see the spa updated to include a sauna and a refreshed locker room experience that better matches the beauty and upscale feel of the overall resort. Again, the facilities are beautiful and the staff is incredible, and I would absolutely recommend the resort itself. However, I would not recommend purchasing a spa day pass until the steam room issues are properly addressed and repaired.

My husband and I recently visited Cheeca Lodge for a couples massage. The staff was friendly, professional, and welcoming, and we appreciated their kindness throughout our visit. Unfortunately, there were several aspects of our experience that left us disappointed. During our massage, we were offered an additional foot massage while already in the spa room. While we agreed to the upgrade, we later realized that the added service appeared to take time away from our original 50-minute massage rather than extending it. If guests are paying extra, the additional service should be in addition to the scheduled treatment time, not included within it. As a result, the last 15 minutes of our massage felt very rushed, which took away from what should have been a relaxing experience. We also spent time at the pool and found it to be less than ideal. The water had a noticeable amount of sunscreen residue and bugs floating in it. We ordered food and drinks poolside, but service was extremely slow. Our drinks took a long time to arrive, and our appetizers were mistakenly delivered to another pool area, resulting in an even longer wait. It appeared that there was only one bartender/server handling the entire pool service, which may explain the delays. While there were some positive aspects to our visit, the overall experience did not meet our expectations for a resort of this caliber. Unfortunately, we do not plan to return.

Had a wonderful stay at Cheeca Lodge & Spa, and Haydee B. at the front desk truly made the experience extra special. The amenities this resort has to offer are incredible, from the beautiful ocean views and relaxing pools to the great dining and overall atmosphere. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND their recently updated PREMIER ROOMS!!! She was so personable, welcoming, and genuinely went above and beyond to make sure our stay felt memorable. Her warmth and attentiveness set the tone for a fantastic Keys visit. Thank you, Haydee, for taking such great care of us. Can’t wait to visit again!
