Cheeca Lodge & Spa is a striking waterside resort praised for its luxurious amenities, attentive hospitality, and prime oceanfront location. However, guests report inconsistent room maintenance, slow service speeds at high prices, and unresolved pest issues during certain stays, creating a mixed experience.

Had a wonderful stay at Cheeca Lodge & Spa, and Haydee B. at the front desk truly made the experience extra special. The amenities this resort has to offer are incredible, from the beautiful ocean views and relaxing pools to the great dining and overall atmosphere. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND their recently updated PREMIER ROOMS!!! She was so personable, welcoming, and genuinely went above and beyond to make sure our stay felt memorable. Her warmth and attentiveness set the tone for a fantastic Keys visit. Thank you, Haydee, for taking such great care of us. Can’t wait to visit again!

Cheeca Lodge was one of the best vacation places that we stayed. There were so many things that made Cheeca Lodge stand out. Before booking I spoke with Taylor Torres unbeknownst to me she is a manager. Her professionalism, warm/friendly tone was outstanding. She said let her know when we arrive, which we did and she remembered us. I can’t say enough about her. The entire staff also were above and beyond, accommodations everything we expected, but Taylor Torres is a definite asset to Cheeca. We are looking forward to returning in November. Very satisfied guest Miss Joey Capo Sheila Profsky

????? Our stay at Cheeca Lodge & Spa in Islamorada was a wonderful surprise and truly exceeded expectations. We booked a suite in the main building for six people for a two-day stay, and from the moment we arrived until checkout, everything felt top-notch and seamless. Check-in set the tone immediately—we were welcomed with rosé wine, which was such a lovely touch after traveling. The staff throughout the property were warm, attentive, and professional, delivering excellent service from start to finish. The resort itself is beautiful and relaxing. The beach is gorgeous, the heated swimming pools are perfect for unwinding, and there’s so much to enjoy on site: a golf course, spa, open-air jacuzzi, and plenty of peaceful spots to sit back and soak in the atmosphere. It really captures that effortless, indulgent vacation feeling—what the Italians would call la dolce vita. Spacious accommodations, great amenities, and a calm, luxurious vibe made this stay memorable for our whole group. A true five-star experience in the Keys. We would absolutely come back.

Infested with roaches and management did not seem to care. I asked about their protocol since they were small roaches and I thought they might be bed bugs. (In the end, I don’t think they were bedbugs because the roaches were numerous and small but bigger than bedbugs so probably a different type of cockroach). They said we’ll move you to another room and have our pest control check after the room is vacant. Several roaches got INTO THE BACKPACK and there was a roach on the wall waiting in the new room. Nightmare fuel. I guess they didn’t even bother to check the new room. This was for a business trip after working 12+ hour days. Moved to a third room. Had to ask for them to wash the backpack and clothes to hopefully not bring them home. No proactive measures or solutions, I had to come up with that remedy. Absolute nightmare. I would be understanding if they handled things better. A hotel with a restaurant on the water is going to have pests. But moving to 3 rooms, having roaches in your bag and on your clothes, and having to ask for the bare minimum of washing the stuff that had roaches crawling on it because they weren’t going to do anything about it is just unacceptable. Otherwise it’s a nice property with lots to do that we wanted to return to as a family but how can you rest when there are roaches in the room and your concerns over a health hazard are not properly addressed? I’m writing this review to warn anyone staying there to thoroughly check the room before you settle in.

Went for a spa visit only. Facial was nice. However it was supposed to be 80 minutes since I was with a friend having an 80 minute treatment. The employee snippily said you booked a 50 minute caviar facial. I said I requested an 80 minute treatment and the specifics to be discussed as to what would be the best for my skin. So the treatment was definitely less than 50 minutes and a 19%gratuity was already added but we were told we could add additional. The spa is nice and my skin does look good.

We had a wonderful time. Only downside is the elevator was out of order in the building where we were supposed to stay we had to go back to the front desk for reassignment. We were given an ocean front room in the main building at no additional charges. The next morning we get a call from hotel management. The staff member who gave us the upgrade was not authorized and we had to move or pay an additional $250 per night. We packed our stuff and moved to another room but it was very far from the elevator and we asked them to do better. They tried to find other rooms for us but none were acceptable. Ultimately we were allowed to stay in the room we were given. Point being communication among staff is troubling.

Stayed here for 7 nights (across 4 suites and 1 Casita) with my entire extended family (19 people). Overall the property is nice and there are lots of activities. The large dock is wonderful. There were many issues with the hotel though and it was certainly not up to par with what you'd expect given the price (~$2K per night for the suites plus an outrageous ~$300 per day resort fee). The service across the hotel was extremely slow. Everything from ordering drinks at the bar, ordering food (at the restaurants or room service) was very, very slow. They also, for some reason, only have basic cable at all of the TVs across the hotel so had almost no NFL games on at any of the TVs, which seems ridiculous for a hotel in America at these prices. The quality of the food was pretty sub-standard, with some exceptions. The service and quality of food across the street at both Pierre's and the Morada Bay (same ownership) was significantly better. The rooms overall were fine but certainly nothing to write home about. One of the beds in my parents ~$4K per night Casita was broken which, again, for the price seems pretty ridiculous. The hotel was also not very stroller friendly as the majority of the pathways are sand or thick gravel which is pretty difficult for strollers. Overall, a decent hotel and nice property but definitely not worth the price.

My husband and I recently spent three nights at Cheeca Resort in Isla Morada, and overall, it was a beautiful and relaxing stay. Check-in was smooth, and the receptionist was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Our room was spotless, the bed was very comfortable, and the oceanfront view was absolutely gorgeous. We paid to upgrade to an ocean view with a private jacuzzi tub, and we’re so glad we did—it truly elevated the experience. The water sports staff were fantastic and very helpful, providing paddleboards so we could explore and enjoy the stunning property from the water. We also dined at all of the restaurants on-site. While the food was decent overall, it lacked flavor in some dishes—the pasta, in particular, was quite bland. That said, the service at every restaurant was exceptional. The staff consistently went out of their way to make us feel welcome and taken care of, which made a big difference. Unfortunately, our only negative experience was with a manager on duty. On our second day, I asked her where the hammocks on the property were located so I could relax and read. She quietly laughed at me and said, “I have been managing here for ten years and we do not have any hammocks.” I was confused, as there are multiple photos of hammocks on both the resort’s website and current Instagram page. When I tried to show her the photos, she turned away and brushed me off. The interaction made me feel dismissed and as though I wasn’t valued as a guest. It’s a shame, because aside from this interaction, the resort staff truly made the stay enjoyable. Cheeca is a beautiful property with many wonderful employees, and with a bit more consistency in guest service at the management level, it could be an exceptional experience.

Me and four family members stayed at Cheeca Lodge and Spa to attend my niece’s wedding. The property and grounds are beautiful, and there’s a lot of fun activities to enjoy. We really enjoyed the pool, spa, and private beach. As far as our rooms, the beds were very comfortable and the living room was comfortable. The big bathroom was nice as well. There are some things that need to be improved. The microwave was old, peeling and nasty on the inside, and needs replaced. In the small bathroom, the sink stopper was broken, one of the two lights didn’t work, and the light on the makeup mirror also didn’t work. We contacted the front desk about getting the sink stopper fixed. They said they would send someone but nobody ever came to fix it. The front desk did however send up extra coffee pods when we requested it. Overall I expect a little better accommodations for what we paid, but it’s a beautiful place and we had a nice stay.

Very nice resort in Islamorada in the Florida Key. It's a great location directly on the ocean and near many attractions and activities. It has beautiful, lush landscaping and the grounds are kept very nice. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. They have ample staff, which can be challenging for businesses in the Keys. It's one of the nicer tourist resorts in the upper keys. The keys in general are expensive, and Cheeca Lodge is no exception to that. Overall always a nice experience.
