The Fisher Inn Resort & Marina offers renovated, spacious rooms with private beach access and a friendly staff, though guests should be aware of intermittent maintenance issues such as plumbing problems and occasional creature sightings.
Lovely renovation.. room was beautiful but too pricey for motel like place. For a bit more you can stay at a luxury resort with a true beach view, restaurants, bars, nicer pool(s) and not mangroves in front of your room off a fishing walkway.. Staff was extemely friendly and efficient especially front desk. Clean, clean, clean.. very well kept. Would recommend if you want to pay the high price and stay in motel like place. Access to beach is nice, great chairs and tiki shade cabanas and good fishing right out front.
Everything was fantastic. The rooms were very clean and smelled great. The outside was tidy and taken care of. The lobby staff were polite and thorough. Our AC was the only issue. It wouldn't keep up, and we would all wake up sweating every night. It was also the coldest day of the year! The mini-splits were still working double time.
Found this place on a google search and scooped up a Black Friday special. Check-in was very efficient, a few simple items in the lobby if needed. Our room was clean and tidy. Nice look to the room and view was great. Everything has functioned as it should and very satisfied with our stay so far. A few amenities on site such as a boat launch, Cornhole, chairs in the sand and picnic tables. Have not had the chance to try the breakfast they offer but they do serve onsite just outside the man lobby. Staff in the lobby was prompt and polite to interact with.
Rooms are very small- bed was terribly squeaky (but they built a new frame after our 3rd night)- slight smell from the bathroom at all times- couch was completely uncomfortable- booked 13 nights & after 5th night asked for housekeeping (to address trash- clean towels- tp- etc) & was ignored. The grounds are beautiful- amazing ocean views- cornhole & fireflies available..... just disappointed with the furniture- inside smell & poor service.
Nice amenities and great staff. The rooms are generously sized and they are being renovated and updated. The king sized beds are very comfortable - firm yet not too hard wi th nice crisp linens and nice pillows. The best part is the private beach, free paddle boards, kayaks, and bikes. We have used these amenities daily and they are awesome!
We stayed at Fisher Inn Resort & Marina, and like any hotel, it has its pros and cons. I won’t focus on the negatives, as they have already been mentioned plenty of times in previous reviews. I’d rather share what we truly enjoyed. First of all, the staff is incredibly friendly. The young woman at the front desk deserves special thanks — she was absolutely wonderful. The young man was also very pleasant. Everyone was kind, attentive, and genuinely willing to help. If you need anything, the staff really does their best to make your stay comfortable. The location is excellent. There is a beautiful park or botanical garden nearby, perfect for walking and relaxing. We stayed in a separate half of a cottage with direct access to the water and beach area. This beach is great for sunbathing, relaxing, or playing volleyball, but not ideal for swimming — which is quite typical for the Florida Keys and important to know in advance. A big advantage is that kayaks and bicycles are included in the stay, which adds a lot of value and makes the experience more enjoyable without extra costs. One bonus that pleasantly surprised us was the complimentary access to a wonderful nearby park with a real swimming beach. It’s especially perfect for children: the water is shallow, safe, and gradually gets deeper. Admission is free for hotel guests. The park is only about a 6-minute drive from the hotel and offers free parking. If the hotel invested a bit more in island-style décor — in the bedrooms, bathrooms, and breakfast area — and offered hot breakfasts such as eggs, bacon, and more toasters, this place could easily reach a very high level. I truly believe such investments would pay off many times over. Overall, this is a lovely place, especially for families with children. We were very happy with our stay. Many thanks to the entire hotel team for the warm welcome and excellent hospitality.
This is an incredible and affordable little gem in The Keys! Husband and I had a wonderful little 2-day getaway at The Fisher Inn. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating like other reviews have mentioned. We weren’t satisfied with our view (partial ocean view) so they offered to upgrade us and we were so pleased with the new suite and the full ocean view!! Both rooms were VERY clean and spacious. Andres - I believe he may be one of the owners - is amazing, hospitable, and made us feel like family for the short time we were there. We didn’t get to try breakfast because we took advantage of the private charter boat they have onsite. We were able to go out fishing 6:30am with Captain Kyle and we had an amazing time! Overall, we are thrilled we found this place and we will be back!
We really enjoyed our stay here. Great staff. Room was quite large with fridge, sink, and small stove. Very comfortable and clean. We used their kayak (they have 1) and paddleboard, also borrowed their bikes for an afternoon ride. Great pool. Breakfast was bagels, muffins, toast, and cereal; exactly what I'd expect for a grab-and-go breakfast. It's location is central to all we wanted to do. I'd gladly stay here again.
The location is great. Staff is not friendly or professional for the money paid. I found two small roaches in the room on two separate occasions. We were unable to sleep or rest at night due to the high noise on the AC once it would power on. The continental breakfast is nothing appealing. You’ll have to go have breakfast elsewhere after that. Parking is very tight. Trust me for the money paid you can go to a nearby resort and receive more bang for your buck
There was no hot water in our room (issue with the entire building we were in). We discovered the issue at 10:30pm of the night we checked in. We called right away, but there was no one available to help. We were there 8 nights and it never got fixed. The first few days that I checked in on the status I was given inconsistent answers like they thought it was fixed or someone is coming tomorrow. Eventually, we got answers that made a little more sense. We thought about leaving, but after several days I thought for sure they would get it fixed. We were fortunate another room in another building was out of service due to air conditioning issues so we and others in our building were able to get a hot shower. It was inconvenient as we could only get in during office/lobby hours. Apparently, no hot water is a common issue per reviews posted in 2023 and 2024. Most of the staff was friendly, but not always knowledgeable. I felt bad for them. The property owners do not give them much to work with to make customers happy, so I imagine they deal with unhappy people daily. The entire time we were there, we only saw a manager once. The lobby is open from 7am to 9pm. If you are going to arrive late, you have to tell them so you can check in at another property down the road. The view of the ocean and location is great. The pool area and recreational activities on the property were decent. The room was okay. Beds are squeaky. We reserved for 3 people, but there was no bedding for the pull out sofa bed for our third person. Thankfully, we pack our own bedding. Low tide was common every afternoon and evening. Boats came and went, but had to stay close to the shoreline to get through. I hope the property owners consider how to better and more quickly service their property so others have a more comfortable stay. I think this place has lots of potential if they can figure out how to better maintenence the place.
