Fisher Inn Resort & Marina receives mixed reviews, with strong positives regarding its location, staff friendliness, and included amenities. However, recurring concerns around cleanliness, specifically roach infestations and hot water issues, as well as occasional service lapses and outdated facilities, detract from the overall experience. Recent renovations have improved the property but significant investment is needed to address persistent problems.
Perfect location for anything you would want to do in Islamorada. Great views from our unit 323. Really enjoyed our stay. The bed was ok. The couch was a little hard but sufficient. Only major Issue was with roaches in kitchen and bath area. Came in one night from a local bar with pizza for dinner, set it on the kitchen counter and went down and visited with local guests for about an hour. Returned to find the roaches had found their way into our pizza box. Needless to say no dinner for the night. Emailed and text the office with pics of the bugs, only asking for a refund of $17.19 for dinner we were unable to eat. I was contacted, but was never followed up with. Customer satisfaction was not a priority. Sometimes it does not pay to be nice or discreet. Lesson learned. When you pay good money, you definitely expect not to have bugs in your unit.
This place is a great getaway in the keys, without having to drive all the way down to Key West. It is definitely a better value play than some of the really expensive places to stay. If you or someone in your family loves fishing, they can fish right off the back. There is a dock there that has a nice set up. There is an area to play cornhole, build with blocks and sit by a fire pit or in the hammock. My son caught dozens of fish on the property and we also saw a manatee with its baby calf right next to the dock. There is a pool as well but I did not use it. I stayed in a standard two king room. There was plenty of room to spread out with a family of four. It is peaceful, quiet, and relaxing. There are also some good restaurants nearby. We did have some minor issues the first night, But the staff worked to make sure everything was taken care of right away. The manager, Andres is also very helpful and accommodating.
Excellent place to stay right on the water with facilities to enjoy kayaking etc. Our rom was spacious and clean with a nice balcony looking out at the ocean. The breakfast was included and simple and adequate. A food truck on site served delicious thai food. The staff were very friendly. Though it was on Route 1, our room was quiet and we heard no noise. There was an osprey nest, almost in front of the hotel with quiet places to walk around. Do remember to visit the Turtle hospital and Seven mile bridge, when you are here.
An amazing place and fantastic staff, and Thomas was very friendlyand attentive . My wife and I had a wonderful gateway and definitely will come back to Fisher Inn Resort. We brought our dinghy boat and used the ramp/marina facility. That was a plus ! Regards Rafael & Aisha
Lovely renovation.. room was beautiful but too pricey for motel like place. For a bit more you can stay at a luxury resort with a true beach view, restaurants, bars, nicer pool(s) and not mangroves in front of your room off a fishing walkway.. Staff was extemely friendly and efficient especially front desk. Clean, clean, clean.. very well kept. Would recommend if you want to pay the high price and stay in motel like place. Access to beach is nice, great chairs and tiki shade cabanas and good fishing right out front.
Everything was fantastic. The rooms were very clean and smelled great. The outside was tidy and taken care of. The lobby staff were polite and thorough. Our AC was the only issue. It wouldn't keep up, and we would all wake up sweating every night. It was also the coldest day of the year! The mini-splits were still working double time.
Well. I just change my review. Worst place ever. I have 6 pictures of bed bugs or (some type of mite). I've been itching for days & thought I was allergic. Come to find out ot was bugs. I tried to work out something out with the front desk & worse customer service ever. Took calls while speaking with her Ignored me Didn't call me for 3 hrs- went back down & acted surprised by the entire converstion conversation as if I had never been down to speak to her. Did nothing since there's no other available rooms here. Rated another fifteen minutes, forced her to call a manager...who isn't even on site. Actual horrible place. Do not ever stay here.
Found this place on a google search and scooped up a Black Friday special. Check-in was very efficient, a few simple items in the lobby if needed. Our room was clean and tidy. Nice look to the room and view was great. Everything has functioned as it should and very satisfied with our stay so far. A few amenities on site such as a boat launch, Cornhole, chairs in the sand and picnic tables. Have not had the chance to try the breakfast they offer but they do serve onsite just outside the man lobby. Staff in the lobby was prompt and polite to interact with.
Rooms are very small- bed was terribly squeaky (but they built a new frame after our 3rd night)- slight smell from the bathroom at all times- couch was completely uncomfortable- booked 13 nights & after 5th night asked for housekeeping (to address trash- clean towels- tp- etc) & was ignored. The grounds are beautiful- amazing ocean views- cornhole & fireflies available..... just disappointed with the furniture- inside smell & poor service.
Nice amenities and great staff. The rooms are generously sized and they are being renovated and updated. The king sized beds are very comfortable - firm yet not too hard wi th nice crisp linens and nice pillows. The best part is the private beach, free paddle boards, kayaks, and bikes. We have used these amenities daily and they are awesome!
