Coconut Cove Resort offers a budget-friendly, old-Florida charm with stunning views and a highly praised, multi-generational atmosphere, but guests should be prepared for dated accommodations, frills, and a lack of amenities.
This is a budget friendly place for people looking for a nice getaway, it isnt a hilton or a high end hotel chain place, I have traveled alot and will post a picture to prove that! The staff that I met were very friendly and accommodating and the grounds looked amazing. The rooms are outdated a little bit but compared to the prices of other resorts and hotels it is worth the price. I booked a room here for two nights because it was the closest place to a jobsite that I needed to be at. Everywhere else was either double or more for the stay. And yes will post a picture to prove price difference for same day booking too.
Beautiful pool area and love the palm trees all over the property. That being said…. NO amenities, no bar, no grill/restaurant, walls are paper thin and you can hear everything the person in the next room says and does, balcony is shared with the whole floor. Nothing within proper walking distance and way over priced. There is a “game room” that has A ping pong table and there is a gym. I paid 800 and something for the weekend and it should have been like 500$. It was clean at least. I liked the chickens walking around the property as the owner kept chickens, and they were cats around the property as well, the reception woman was very accommodating and nice.
By far the worst "resort" I've stayed in. room was a bed bathroom with a microwave that looked like it had been bought at a yard sale, the fridge had the finish peeling off the doors , the hvac was disabled with a minisplit that was ac only ( got 55 degrees and would warm the room) .I was trying to figure out why it advertised as a marina !? But it does a have a boat ramp but the dock was awful. No indoor seating in the resort room I had booked the shower head had been replaced a few time but never removed the old mounts . To shower, standing in the tub you had to watch the shower wand or you spray the window or the floor . If you're looking at the reviews, and think I'm just a disgruntled guest, don't take my word go waste your money and find out for yourself. And the tikibar and grill has since been shut down . Im a one and done with this place
We selected this resort to stay while scuba diving here with our dive club. The people at this resort are incredible! They helped make our stay memorable. Our room was comfortable for a non-chain resort. The property and rooms, while somewhat dates are extremely well-kept and the staff here go out of their way to ensure their guests are well-cared for. The grounds here wonderful! A large swimming pool with a unique waterfall graces an open area with a ‘tiki’ bar
We would like to thank the staff of Coconut Cove Resort. Our stay was fantastic, and you folks helped improve our stay, and made it even more enjoyable. You folks were very friendly and helped us navigate our way around. What a beautiful resort!! I would encourage anyone looking for a beautiful resort with a fantastic staff that is extremely friendly, to review this resort to stay at. 5 stars to the gentleman that rakes the sand everyday, it looks great and inviting. I hope "Ebay" continues to get his morning milk, as I provided after breakfast each day. A GREAT EXPERIENCE!! Jay and DiAnn Indiana
Owners/employees were very friendly and helpful (other than one lady who did not know east from north). The grounds are excellent and VERY well kept with many places for sitting and relaxing and the pool was refreshing. However, we stayed in one of their cottages and they are very much in need of some updating. They do not provide housekeeping with these. We were there for 3 nights and never got so much as a towel replacement. I am sure we could have gotten replacements from the office but should not have to for the price we paid which was over $200 a night with tax. There is no wifi in these rooms and most EVERYTHING in these cottages is extremely old (tv and fridge were newer) and have not been updated for many decades. The toilet barely worked, the shower had no water pressure and the stove was so old with loose and uneven burners that it was almost useless. Very few utensils and cookware. 3 stars because the people were friendly and the grounds immaculate but these cottages need some work! How hard can it be to provide wireless to these areas?
The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting this area and want that old-Florida feel that we are losing with these revamped resorts. Perfect little boat ramp, dockage and trailer parking. Loved the chickens, the pool, the grounds and the location. Hope to see you all again soon.
We recently spent a wonderful weekend at this enchanting property with my family. The location boasts a breathtaking view, charming tiki huts, a fishing dock, and delightful amenities like a ping pong table and corn hole games that kept the kids entertained. The rooms were impeccably clean, and the pricing was fair compared to similar establishments. What truly made our stay exceptional was the warm hospitality of the staff and owners, ensuring that we look forward to many more visits to this lovely property.
I really researched every place in the keys prior to booking my room. This place has lower ratings than most, but if you look through the reviews it's a bunch of spoiled people expecting luxury at every turn. Don't get me wrong this place is luxurious but it does not have servants running around tending to your every want. What it does offer is a family atmosphere, it's private, the staff is helpful and very kind. The views are amazing, the rooms are definitely old Florida resort, very very clean, private, and I absolutely loved them. This is the type of place your family comes to every year and when you arrive they welcome you by name. I couldn't be more happy with my decision, and anyone who has anything bad to say about this whole establishment is looking for a place with a snobby butler telling you where you can sit. The staff here are the most kind and caring people, ten stars if I could. Oh, I have stayed at places all throughout the keys, by far coconut cove is the go to from now on.
Responding to the manager’s comment: Please note that I have proof of the damages inside that unhygienic room + bathroom. It’s worst than a motel. Obviously not worth $400 dollars x night. We called you to inform you that we were leaving because of this reason. During Valentine’s weekend you did a false advertisement in Expedia because the pictures you added make it look like a Resort and Marina but in reality it’s all lies. There’s no beachfront, it’s sewer water. Also, you over charged me for a room that is not worth the amount. You have a non refundable policy. Which means, you know that people will leave as soon as they walk in the room, like I did. I want to help future visitors to Islamorada not to get scammed. Yes, believe me It’s a scam. I uploaded photos of the details in that room and somehow it’s been blocked to the public. Definitely, people please save your money, do not to book. Its not worth it. 1st REVIEW: The worst rat hole in the upper key. I paid $400.00 dollars for a room that had everything falling apart. Don’t believe what you see in pictures. This is not a Resort and Marina. They’re scammers that won’t spend a dime to update their rooms. Expedia should be ashamed to have this motel advertised as Resort.
