The Courtyard by Marriott Faro Blanco Resort offers a beautiful waterfront location and well-maintained amenities, including multiple pools and access to the neighboring Hilton property. Recent reviews highlight a pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff, but also point to concerns about inconsistent service, high fees, and occasional maintenance issues.
Beautiful hotel! Our room was tastefully decorated and a very comfortable bed. After a long day in the sun we enjoyed lounging in our room. The food at the pool was delicious and the staff was very pleasant. I look forward to coming back!
This is a beautiful property!!! It is right on the water and the sunset both nights was beautiful!! We enjoyed the pool and the food and drinks we had were fabulous! Our room was spacious and clean. There was no distracting noise from other guests although we were not facing the pool, but I didn't notice noise in the evenings either. We did see a couple of kiddos, but the parents kept them entertained so it wasn't distracting at all. The general manager was actually in the lobby greeting guests and gave us a couple of tips of things to do. They have reciprocity with the Hilton Faro Blanco - just not with paying. At the Hilton, you can't bill to your room, but that's not a big deal. We did eat dinner at the Hilton property and it was fantastic! Walking around between the properties was easy and there were multiple places from which to watch the sunset. We would definitely recommend it!! The GM did tell me that the way to get the best rate at a Bonvou property (Marriott, for example) is to use the app. I had no idea so thought I would share it here.
We had a great stay. The room was clean and comfortable and the amenities at the resort are excellent - pool, bar & grill and the various outdoor areas. We were even able to check out chairs and a cooler for our trip to Sombrero Beach. Most of all we were impressed by the professionalism and friendliness of the staff
We rented a cabana here for the day expecting a relaxing, elevated experience — especially at $175. Unfortunately, it was anything but. After being seated, the staff came by exactly once to drop off a basic pitcher of lemon/lime water… and then disappeared for the rest of the day. No check-ins, no service, no follow-up — nothing. For over 8 hours, we had to repeatedly leave the cabana to go to the bar ourselves anytime we wanted a drink or food. That completely defeats the purpose of paying for a cabana experience. To make matters worse, our food order was prepared incorrectly (we specifically requested dry wings with sauce on the side, but they came tossed in sauce). When we asked for it to be removed from the bill, we were met with attitude — though it was eventually taken off. At checkout, we spoke with the manager, who said he would “pass it along,” but there was no real resolution or acknowledgment of how poor the experience actually was. Bottom line: save your money. You’ll get the exact same level of service sitting by the pool without paying for a cabana — which is to say, none at all. Very disappointing.
Booked a 3-night stay well in advance and paid for a room with a view. I was given a room with a view of dumpsters and the highway. When I returned to the desk after discovering this, I was told it was a glitch on the booking company's end and not theirs (not sure if this is actually true - will review that company if I somehow can figure out if it's true or not). They said they were booked and couldn't help us. They'd look for an upgrade the second day, if we ask at 9 a.m.. We'll see. May raise review if they make good on it. Update: We returned to our room after a brief walk of the facility and found a hand-written note and some goodies apologizing for the room type confusion, and reiterating that they'd try to make good on it tomorrow. That was unexpected and very kind. Final update: Manager made good on our room change, without us asking - called us multiple times until they made contact. Room change was good (actually had a view, 3rd floor, and a balcony!). As an FYI, it seemed to me that there are only a small handful of rooms without balconies or patios. Certain front desk associates much more helpful than others. Seemed 50/50. Resort location amazing, and facility and amenities beautiful. Beach chairs and umbrellas available to borrow at the front desk.
Beautiful place, stayed for one night to check it out. Great location, we were supposed to get ocean view and got a parking lot view. Charged though for ocean view and the service didn’t match the price
An okay Marriott property in a good location. Be aware of $50 in daily added costs for parking and a daily resort fee that provides few added benefits. WiFi is poor, even in the rooms (at least in ours - regularly goes out). Staff is nice and rooms are clean. Not sure I would stay here again given costs/benefits.
Lynn at the front desk truly went above and beyond to make sure we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay. From the moment we arrived, she was warm, attentive, and incredibly proactive in anticipating our needs. She took the time to ensure every detail was taken care of and made us feel genuinely welcomed and valued as guests. Exceptional service like Lynn’s makes all the difference and is the reason we would happily return to this Marriott. She is an absolute asset to the hotel—thank you SO much Lynn, for making our stay so wonderful!
There are marriott courtyards but then there is the faro blanco marriott courtyard resort. While tgis hotel may be a 3 star hotel but this experience was 5 star. The staff takes real pride in service and it really shows. I would stay here again in a heartbeat! The waterfront views are spectacular and the amenities are on point and well kept. I saw a bike technician tuning up all of their rental.bikes which were included in resort fee and the grounds crews were constantly doing upkeep on the premises. All of this effort made tge stay really relaxing and enjoyable.
Rooms were pretty clean...renovations happening here and there, staff was great. Very helpful and friendly. We were there for Thanksgiving. Neighboring property has a marina, and restaurant that served Thanksgiving dinner. 2 different pools, 1 with a great view of the gulf. Kayaks and bicycles available to use as a guest (i believe at no fee) will definitely return.
