Guests consistently praise the Ambrosia Key West for its serene, lush setting and excellent proximity to Duval Street. While the property is described as an older but clean and charming inn, some reviews note outdated rooms and furniture noise. Parking is noted as tight, and a few visitors experienced noise issues.
Clean and spacious rooms! Beautiful property tucked back in the trees. Easy walking distance to Duval street and the harbor. Friendly and helpful staff.
This is a beautiful spot in the heart of Old Town. Our room was amazing, private and spotless. Wrap around porch, pools were surrounded by lush foliage, so serene and picturesque. We were here for our anniversary and the staff was wonderful and accomodating. We will be back!
We loved staying at the Ambrosia! This is a lovely, quaint historic inn in the heart of Key West. It’s perfectly located within walking distance of Duval Street. There was a fridge, microwave, keurig, wine glasses, a pool, and breakfast was included. There are only 4 parking spots on the property but it wasn’t an issue for us and we were able to get parking every night. We would stay here again!
Clean and well equipped rooms. Only set back was that after 3 days we had a dumpster inside the room because we never got room service or had anyone ask if we wanted it. Since our unit was across the street it wasn’t like we could saunter over to the reception to request it. However it was nice, clean and cool. The best part was the location, just a block up from all the action on Duval St.
This was our second trip to this location. It’s perfect for walking everywhere in key west. It’s not a luxury resort but clean and well maintained older buildings. The toilet was very low and bed was not very comfortable but we were only here 3 nights. Breakfast is a decent selection of foods. Parking is a challenge so if you find a spot don’t move. We were on second floor so you need to be able to do stairs and carry luggage up. Homes in the area are lovely older homes and I felt safe there.
First time staying in the Ambrosia, but we are Key West regulars. The Ambrosia is very nicely located on Flemington close to Santiago's Bodega and the Marina (including Onlywood and Waterfront Brewing - make sure to check those places out). It is only a couple blocks from Duval, but pretty quiet. The rooms are on the larger side of the places we've stayed. Clean, modern, I'm very happy having picked this place to stay. They do offer a pretty decent breakfast including the standard hot eggs, sausage, bacon, coffee, breads etc.
My husband and I enjoyed our stay and would stay here again, as it's clean and attractive, as well as close to downtown. We are glad that we pre-arranged for a parking place and would do that again, as well. What we would do differently, though, is ask for a room on the second floor. The ground floor room has a nice chair outside but feels exposed because of the large windows, and I don't like to keep them closed. Also, the footsteps above our heads were constant with furniture often scraping across the floor. I can't imagine what the people were doing, but it was very annoying.
Just spent 3 days here. We stayed in the Sail Fish suite. I know the building is old, but the room is very outdated - except for the ceiling fan and light, everything else is old and dingy. Poor WiFi. The room was clean, but the AC in the back room barely worked. It hardly kept the room cool - thankfully we brought our own fans. The TVs are so small and are out of date. Can hardly see anything on the screen. I know you're not in Key West to watch TV, but at night or before going out, you do. When I mentioned all this to the front desk, the woman just stared at me. I don't know her name, but they're all European women - and the one without eye glasses was so unfriendly and unwelcoming. We arrived on a Friday afternoon and she was so unhelpful. The breakfast lady was pleasant. Pleasant. The other staff seemed to keep the property clean. The room though was not great - would not recommend or return. Disappointed. Ever since the Pandemic the service industry has diminished.
Spacious, clean room with a comfortable King bed. Huge walk-in shower with immediate hot water. We rented #4, the "Jungle Room" for a week. There was a private patio outside our door with a large, warm spa just steps away. We paid the 25 dollar daily parking fee for a spot right outside our room. Very much worth the extra cost. A very tasty and hot breakfast of bacon, eggs, toast, etc saved us about 40 dollars a day. Fantastic location, too. Would definitely stay here again.
