I went to Key West for a five day trip with my best friend and stayed at the Gardens in the entire trip. This place was beautiful! There is foliage everywhere, lizards and birds, they even have a parakeet and cockatiel and a tortoise. Breakfast was cooked to order and I especially liked the turkey sausage, which suprised me as I normally don't like turkey. The bartender was extremely friendly and helpful the entire time and was a joy to converse with, and all of the staff seemed happy to be there! The location of this hotel is perfect for people who like to walk, as it was directly in the middle of the grid. It was only an 18 minute walk to Mallory Square to the north, and the beaches to the south were also only about a 15 minute walk from the hotel. It was only one block down from Duval Street which was also extremely convenient. Even though everything was so close, the hotel is very cut off and intimate in a sense. All the foliage does an amazing job of filtering out the noise from the busy streets. If I am ever in Key West again, I will definitely stay here again. We really had just a lovely stay

Beautiful hotel, but disappointing service We stayed for two nights at The Gardens Hotel in Key West, booking two rooms: a Master Suite for us and a Garden Suite for our daughter. The hotel itself is truly beautiful, charming, and very typical of Key West, with lovely Victorian-style décor and, above all, a gorgeous garden. We also received a very warm welcome when we arrived. Unfortunately, our experience changed significantly the following day. The air conditioning in our Master Suite was extremely noisy at night, to the point that it disturbed our sleep. More surprisingly, our room was not serviced during the day. When we returned in the late afternoon, we simply found a basket with clean towels left outside our door. Our daughter’s room, however, had been fully serviced, even though she had not requested housekeeping. We went to the front desk to ask why our room had not been cleaned and were told, in a rather unpleasant tone, that we were supposed to request housekeeping and that it was now “too late for today.” We explained that no one had informed us of this policy and that our daughter’s room had been serviced without any request, but this did not change anything. Since we had a flight to catch the next morning, we also asked whether it might be possible to have breakfast just 10 minutes before the usual 8:30 a.m. start time. Once again, the response was quite abrupt: breakfast was at 8:30, not before. The most surprising part came at check-out. We spoke with a different staff member, who was much more pleasant and was surprised to hear that our room had not been serviced. She confirmed that guests are not normally required to request housekeeping. Overall, our experience was quite mixed. The hotel is beautiful and has a great deal of charm, but considering the category of room we booked and the level of service one would expect from a hotel of this standard, we expected much more attentive service and, at the very least, clear and consistent information from the staff.

This is my 4th stay at The Gardens Hotel over the years and every single stay is amazing - it only gets better! Literally one street from Duval - but there is SO MUCH MORE to Key West! Walkable to everywhere?The rooms are spacious, the details are perfect, the beds are dreamy, the pin drop quiet is everywhere on site, the relaxing atmosphere, the breakfast is plenty and served, and very best is the people pure happiness on every face: Lynn, Rhoda, Annette, “Adele” and of course Jim! Everyone makes you feel like family and royalty - from first visit to fourth! If you’re coming to Key West, the rooms are an amazing value and so much better than a hotel! Best kept secret - no where else I’d rather be! Perfect! ???

Excellent. Our stay has been so wonderful. The entire staff is so friendly and inviting. The grounds and hotel are super cozy and inviting. This is the most comfortable and peaceful place I have ever stayed. We're so happy to have found it and look forward to our next visit.

We stayed here for our mini-moon! We loved it. The service (Lynn and Annette) was 10/10! It’s quiet, peaceful, beautiful. Very convenient to walk to restaurants, shopping, etc. - nothing is more than a 15 min walk away! The fresh included breakfast was delicious, the small bar by the pool was fun and welcoming, the wine bar had great selections. The gardens and the turtles were such a unique feature. We would definitely come back here!

Our stay at The Gardens Hotel was absolutely phenomenal, never want to stay anywhere else for future Key West trips! Our room was lovely, we had the Master Suite and it was spectacular. We loved the balcony overlooking the pool, we could enjoy the live music, it was great. The bathroom was luxurious and very spacious. The pool itself was lovely - extra special shout out to our favorite bartender, Annette, she took great care of us and was overall a hoot to be around. The location was wonderful, close to everything, yet you feel removed and in your own private, secluded garden. The grounds were immaculate, hotel staff superb, I can’t say enough great things about this hotel! Deserves a 100/10! P.S. Can also vouch for it being an LGBTQ+ inclusive space, my fiancé & I were nothing but comfortable here! ??????

Our stay at The Gardens Hotel in Key West over Memorial Day weekend was absolutely incredible from start to finish. From the moment we arrived and were greeted with sparkling wine, we knew we were somewhere special. Judith at reception was beyond friendly and welcoming. She gave us a full tour of the gorgeous property and personally escorted us to our room, which made the experience feel so personal and luxurious. The hotel itself is truly an oasis right off Duval Street — lush, tropical, peaceful, and beautifully maintained. Despite being steps away from all the action, it was unbelievably quiet and relaxing. Our room and the grounds were stunning, and the self-serve wine room was such a unique and amazing touch. We also loved the complimentary breakfast each morning, which made the stay feel even more special. Feeding the onsite tortoises was such a fun and memorable experience, and the live music every night created the perfect atmosphere. A huge shoutout to Phil at the bar — he was incredibly friendly and made fantastic drinks all weekend long. We were enjoying ourselves so much that we decided to stay an extra night, and the staff was wonderfully accommodating in making that happen. And of course, we can’t forget Lucy, the adorable onsite cat, who completely stole our hearts. The pool was also perfection — the ideal temperature for relaxing after a day exploring Key West. This was hands down one of the most relaxing, charming, and memorable hotel stays we’ve ever had. 5 stars all the way! We visited Key West for the first time and had such an amazing stay at The Gardens Hotel. My husband accidentally booked a room that wasn’t dog friendly, but the receptionist was incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful. She upgraded us to a dog-friendly room at no additional charge, which completely saved our trip! This was honestly one of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed at in the US. The complimentary breakfast was actually delicious; real fresh food, not the usual prepackaged hotel breakfast. The location was perfect, close to everything while still feeling peaceful and relaxing. The backyard and pool area were absolutely beautiful and made the whole place feel like a tropical oasis. And to top it all off, the hotel cat Lucy was adorable and made our stay even more memorable. We can’t wait to come back!

Our two night stay was wonderful. Our room was excellent. The hosts were very helpful. Breakfast each morning by the pool and garden was tasty and pleasant. The location is amazing. It was really cool to have a secluded garden and pool only half a block from the center of Duval St.
