Guests consistently praise the resort’s tropical charm, spacious clean rooms, friendly staff, and convenient shuttles to key attractions, though noise pollution and inconsistent service pose challenges.
One of the best hotels I have stayed in across the United States in many years. From the moment of arrival the quality of service stood out — especially at reception, where staff were professional, efficient, and genuinely welcoming. The hotel’s prime location made it easy to access local attractions and contributed greatly to the overall convenience of our stay. Cleanliness throughout the property was exceptional. Guest rooms, public restrooms, and relaxation areas were spotless and well maintained, reflecting strong housekeeping standards and attention to detail. The public facilities felt cared for and inviting, which made moving around the property a comfortable experience. I particularly appreciated the dedicated adults-only area. Its thoughtful separation and design offered a tranquil retreat for relaxation and enhanced the hotel’s appeal for guests seeking a quieter environment. Overall, the hotel deserves recognition for its high standards in service, location, and cleanliness — qualities that make it stand out even among long?familiar brands. During our stay the poolside bar service fell short of the otherwise positive experience. When I asked for an extra plate, the staff fulfilled the request but did so without a friendly or attentive demeanor. The interaction felt curt and lacked the positive engagement one expects in a hospitality setting. This small issue stood out because everything else at the hotel was well run and welcoming. A bit more training or encouragement toward warm, proactive service at the pool bar would easily elevate the guest experience and ensure consistency across all hotel outlets.
This hotel is absolutely charming. They take care of every detail. We had a 1 night reservation but we loved the hotel and the Village of Key West, so we decided to stay for one more night. It is close (10minutes) to Downtown and in front of a mall area with restaurants, groceries and convenience. Staff is super welcoming. It also has Great pools and a complete gym area. Our room was spacious and had an amazing private exit to the Ocean, which made the experience even more special! Would love to be back soon!
The hotel was very good. Even though we stayed in one of the most affordable rooms, the overall structure is excellent and everything works very well. The staff is extremely kind and helpful, which makes a big difference in the experience. Another great highlight is the free transportation departing directly from the hotel to the city center and to the beach club, which makes getting around very easy. One special mention goes to the shuttle driver, who was incredibly kind to us. On our way back to the hotel one day, she even gave us a small tour around the city, showing us historic spots in Key West and sharing interesting facts and curiosities. There is also a Sunset Water Sports right next to the hotel, where we did a jet ski tour that was super fun. To make things even better, the hotel allowed us to check out one hour later so we could come back from the activity, take a shower, and organize our belongings. I would definitely recommend it.
We arrived in Key West for a wedding, and our experience at Parrot Key Hotel was wonderful from start to finish. We had about 30 people staying on the property for the wedding weekend, and everything was handled beautifully. The ceremony and reception setup were absolutely stunning. The food at the reception was amazing, and we also enjoyed dining at their Grove restaurant — everything was delicious. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and we loved that they offered a shuttle service back and forth to Duval Street, which made getting around so easy. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. Parrot Key Hotel truly made this trip a great experience, and we would definitely stay here again.
Absolutely loved my stay at Parrot Key Hotel & Villas! The whole place has a wonderful Caribbean charm with lots of greenery, trees, and plants all around, it really feels like a little tropical oasis. The music you hear outside is unique and adds so much character, making the atmosphere even more welcoming and relaxing. The rooms were beautiful and spotlessly clean, and the staff at the reception and throughout the hotel were incredibly friendly. From the moment we arrived, we truly felt welcome. I can highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here again the next time I’m back in Key West.
First and foremost when I found this hotel I thought it was really cute and quiet and it is, but the service at the front desk completely turned my 5 star to a 1. I had been in contact with someone from the front desk to help me out with things to do for my birthday upon arriving, David was super helpful. I booked 2 rooms, 1 for 2 guests and 1 for 4 guests, 2 queen bed rooms with a water view. I received a couple of calls from the hotel asking me if I wanted to upgrade my room and I declined. When we checked in, I was told that only 1 room was ready and the other one would be ready later, again I was asked if I wanted to upgrade and I had declined. I was walked to the room, luggage was dropped off and when we opened the room, it ended up being a suite. I was super excited, thinking they upgraded me free of charge. I had told the bellhop that we were needing another bed, and he had explained to me the room at the top needed to be unlocked, so he unlocked it. We settled in for about 5 min and started un packing things, the bell hop came back and said we needed to go to the front desk. I went back to the front Desk and the Manager was very rude, I believe her name was Ashley. She had basically tried to tell me that my reservation was only for 2 people for both rooms and asked me to show her my proof so I did, and the man who had checked me in was telling her I had 4 people on the reservation. He called her over and showed her something on the reservation, she rolled her eyes. He said " they are already in the room, we need to unlock the top room" & she proceeded to say "no, we do not". After they had told me that they did not have any 2 queen bed rooms. I believe they over booked that type of room and someone had upgraded it. She took it away. We had to move all our luggage from the room to another. I work in the customer service industry, and I really do believe this was handled poorly. I have no other complaints other than what happened the day I checked in. The other staff I had spoken to and interacted with was great! but I will not stay here again. The shuttle drivers were great! really enjoyed their company! TIP: Be thankful for your life & whatever job you have do it to the best of your abilities! Praying that the staff at this hotel find Joy in their life!
Honestly it would have gotten a five-star rating if not for the one hiccup. There was no fridge or microwave — which for the price I would expect. The shuttle service was pretty nice and it helped with the beach. But the shuttle runs based on a rigid schedule so might not work for all people. The housekeeping was good, the concierge was good, overall a very solid experience.
The place itself is very beautiful with an amazing location. The property looks great, the villas are nice, and the surroundings are truly impressive. Unfortunately, the food completely ruins the experience. The restaurant is overpriced and the food quality is very poor. I strongly recommend having breakfast somewhere else. The grilled shrimp were served cold, and after eating them I got food poisoning. The avocado toast was made on plain, cold bread that wasn’t even toasted - something you could buy for $1 at a nearby store. French fries were acceptable, but everything else from the food menu was a total disappointment. It’s a shame, because the place has great potential, but the dining experience really needs serious improvement.
This is a cute little place with nice, large, clean rooms and great vegetation giving it an island jungle vibe all throughout. The staff were all helpful and the rate was very competitive. The location isn’t the best for being near most of the attractions, but that’s probably why the rate is better. Also, the noise isolation between the rooms wasn’t great. At times the families above and next to us sounded like they were sharing a room with us. I would definitely stay here again.
I wouldn’t recommend this hotel if you’re looking for peace, value, or comfort. The room and terrace were constantly noisy due to loud poolside music starting at 07:30 and continuing for around 14 hours — every single day with the same playlist. Plus you have an air con unit next to you belting out hot air and a loud fan noise. It was relentless! Transport was another letdown. We weren’t informed that the shuttle bus needed to be booked in advance, and it only runs a few times a day — not in the evenings when you'd actually want to use it. This made getting around quite expensive with Ubers and the hotel location being out of town. The hotel itself feels tired and in need of a refresh — a good clean and a fresh coat of paint would go a long way. Meals are served on plastic plates and drinks in plastic cups, which really cheapens the experience. There’s no indoor bar open late, which limits evening options. To top it off, the $30 daily parking fee is excessive and adds to the overall poor value for money. Disappointing stay.
