This Curio Collection property offers an unbeatable beachfront location, convenient access to Duval Street, and a lively atmosphere. However, the resort suffers from significant maintenance issues—such as broken plumbing and unsafe areas—and inconsistent service that frequently fails to meet the expectations associated with its luxury pricing tier and Hilton brand reputation.
Luxury facilities and price, low cost feel charging for amenities. Beautiful hotel and rooms… but very disappointing charging, considering the price you have paid for your room. No breakfast included, $50 per day for parking (so their parking lot is empty), $175 (!!!) for a day on the seaside beds (chairs are included in the price)… you feel like you do when you fly low cost and they start charging you for stuff… but you paid for luxury travel (1,000 + a night). Hopefully more clients concur and they revise their policies.
Great location. Rooms are small but well done. Restaurant & bar excellent. Beachfront, but very few views available from rooms. Who cares though, go outside! Valet parking, food & bar service on the beach. Close to Duval & the southernmost buoy
We came here from North Carolina for my husband's 40th. Let me tell you, absolutely the best trip ever! This hotel is a gem! The staff are amazing and so helpful. Everyone is so kind. We did experience some issues but it was from Expedia not the hotel directly. This hotel did their best to accommodate and fix a mistake that was not even their's. The restaurant is fabulous! You truly do not even need to leave if you do not want to. The restaurant at night, it is a whole vibe on itself!
BEST, BEST, BEST place to stay on Key West! Some of the treasures, who work there.... Annie/Kayla (checked us in) and amazing concierge, Cassy. We celebrated our Anniversary and we were not disappointed. We will ALWAYS stay here. GREAT location (esp the beach... I ONLY wish they had Kayaks available), great rooms and WONDERFUL Staff!!
The reach key west was absolutely awful. This should sum it up: “4/5 star prices, and 2/3 star quality”. DO NOT BELIEVE THE POSITIVE REVIEWS, THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE. Look how many 1 star reviews there are!! Believe them!!! As a “Curio collection” Hilton, this hotel did not live up to expectations in any way. Worst Curio we have ever stayed at by far. Most of it feels very worn down and not well kept. Overall the hotel was busy, I think this hotel must be a huge money maker for Hilton, as the prices are HIGH and the quality is below mid level. The poor experience started at arrival- no “welcome to the Reach key west” from the valet, no offer to help with bags, no offer of a bottle of water. When you’re paying $1500/ night I believe this is reasonable to expect. Then onto our room- the toilet didn’t flush properly, the handle in the shower/ tub literally fell off, (it actually fell off!!!! That has never happened to me at a hotel before!!) and the phone in our room didn’t work. (We asked to have the phone fixed twice and it didn’t get fixed either time) Not what you wood expect for $1500/ night. (They did fix the toilet and kind of fixed the shower handle, it was still loose, and almost guaranteed to fall off sometime very soon) And walking around barefoot in our room, our feet turned BLACK on the bottom!!! When is the last times these floors were cleaned?? Service at the restaurant was slow (and it wasn’t even very busy). Food was OK. The valet parking was VERY expensive - $50/ night. As a reference point, earlier this week the Ritz Carlton in Naples charged $40/ night. The ice machine on the second floor is broken, we let the front desk know that it was broken, they said that they knew, and that they were waiting for a part to come in… perhaps put a sign on it? That says it’s broken and where to find another ice machine? Seems pretty common sense to me. The staff were not particularly friendly or helpful. They weren’t horrible, again just not what you would expect at the these prices. I would never stay here again. If you have already booked this place, do yourself a favor and cancel. (If possible I would have rated rooms and service 0 stars) Signed, a most disappointed Hilton Diamond member.
We truly enjoyed our stay at The Reach. We enjoyed the clean beach with minimal traffic. We even rented day beds one day. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive, and the rooms were clean and well-maintained. The location was perfect. Away from the chaos of Duval Street for quiet, but also close enough that we could walk to everything. I would plan to stay here again when in Key West.
I was very disappointed with my stay, especially given the price point and the expectations that come with a Curio-branded property. From the moment I arrived, I felt judged and not believed. Staff initially questioned whether I had a reservation, and then suggested I had booked third party, and overall treated me with suspicion rather than professionalism. As a side note there was a nice man at the front desk who was friendly and trying to make it better so then I felt like it was going a good stay. Security was present in the office and lingering in a way that felt unnecessary and uncomfortable, which only added to the feeling of being intimidated rather than welcomed. In the morning when I was about to get showered, the most basic issue occurred: the shower did not work. The handle actually fell off, leaving me without running water to take a shower. For a hotel at this price, having a functioning shower is non-negotiable. When I raised this with the manager, I expected empathy or at least an apology. Instead, he turned the situation around and implied that I was harassing staff or being difficult almost like a 'Karen'. He was unapologetic and dismissive, and the only solution offered was to move me to another room — which wasn’t helpful given my schedule because I had to leave. What was most concerning was how normal he seemed to think this issue was, as if non-working water was acceptable that is just insane to me. He was not understanding that my stay wasn't the greatest and I was trying to reason with him. After that interaction, I chose to leave through a different exit because the situation had become so uncomfortable. Unfortunately, I encountered the same manager again at the the elevator, greeting guests (which I kind of expected considering I was being kind of harassed at this point) as I watched him below me which felt unnecessary and further added to the discomfort, like he was sending me off with sarcasm. And of course security again in the lobby. It was like they were bored and decided to pick on me for complaining. Even at the restaurant, my experience was off. I tried to give polite, constructive feedback about slow service, but the manager immediately asked for my room number, which made me feel like I was being documented rather than listened to. Overall, the lack of empathy, the intimidating tone, and the failure to resolve a very basic room issue made this stay extremely unpleasant. I’ve honestly received far better service at lower-priced Hilton properties. When you pay this much, you expect professionalism, respect, and at the very least, working water.
Location was great. Beautiful beach, pier, and view. Pool was nice and clean. Kids really enjoyed the large chess game in the courtyard. Grounds were well kept and clean. Live music during the day (on 11/29/25) at Four Marlins was great. Nice atmosphere. Rooms were ok. Not enough outlets. Sliding doors were hard to open. Shower water took a long time to get warm but eventually did warm up. Rooms were clean. Biggest disappointment was that one of the reasons we picked this resort is because it had connecting rooms. We were told that it would be no problem to get connecting rooms but when we called a couple days before arrival to confirm they said there would be no connecting rooms available for us but the rooms would be next to each other. When we checked in we found that the rooms were separated on a corner with them facing different sides of the resort. The one facing the courtyard was nice but you’re looking right at other balconies and they’re looking right at you. All of the service we received was really great. We especially liked Ricky who helped us with our bags. He was really nice and had a positive attitude that we appreciated. Overall, we enjoyed the resort and would stay there again, but preferably if they could actually give us connecting rooms next time.
Staying at this hotel was fun! My only 2 complaints were that almost none of the outlets in our room worked and our bathroom sink drained super slow like it was almost clogged. One of the only working outlets was a super slow charge so charging everyone's devices was a little frustrating throughout our stay. The hotel was very clean, staff was friendly and professional, there is lots of lounge space outside of the bedrooms which is a wonderful bonus. The pools were awesome and the beach has the softest sand. The location is a dream for walking to any entertainment or food you want on Duval St, or you can easily rent a golf cart or scooter. Conceirge was extremely helpful when booking activities at the hotel, everything we did was memorable in the best way! I would definitely stay here again.
Prior to booking I saw mixed reviews from hospitality, service and rooms. From my personal experience this weekend everything was exceptional. From arriving to the hotel and first interactions with the valet to checking in to our room with Foster who was amazing. Our time by the pool and beach were superb and Stephanie had an amazing personality and hospitality every time. The chairs and umbrellas by the beach are included along with towels. Servers walk the pool and beach regularly to take orders of food or drinks. I had ordered a romantic package for the room and it did not disappoint. The resort fees were adequate for amenities. The valet parking is the only means of parking, but is $50 a day which is a little pricey imo, but I also am a local from Tampa where I find free beach parking. Everyone at FD was very nice when we interacted with them and 2 guys in valet were superb. Highly recommend and hopefully the experience we received remains consistent for everyone else visiting!
